Suggestion Thread
I'm away from the computer this morning for family matters, but will be back this afternoon to work on draft coverage for you. The other main thing on my list right now is the Johnson/Manzella report, so use this thread for suggestions on what kinds of things you'd like to see in the coming week.

How bout:
A Nick Punto vs Brendan Harris discussion/comp and why Punto is greater :)
In all seriousness, I’d like a Prospect Retro on Nick Markakis or Shin Soo Choo
PPPPPPUNTO 4 MVP 2010
Why Punto is greater? I can do that for you now.
1. Punto destroys Harris defensively
2. He’s a better baserunner
3. He doesn’t have a huge platoon split
You can pretty much just use No. 1 though. Punto’s defensive advantage makes him clearly better than Harris.

I both love and hate the Twins because they do so many things right
As a Chicagoan, it drives me crazy because they always smack around the White Sox and might even be the third-best team in the AL this year, but I also can’t help but appreciation how well they do what they do.
And I just can’t figure out why they opted to keep Harris around to give him $3.2M over the next two seasons. He’s useful against lefties, but those kind of players don’t cost $1.6M/year.

+1
the Harris move makes little sense to me also
They have a Brendon harris clone in AAA in Luke Hughes
I guess when push comes to shove Harris’ defense is the reason why the Twins gave him the deal
decent at 3rd base, pretty good at SS, and can ‘man’ 1st base as well
Hughes isn’t those things except maybe at 2nd base….
Wow Blackburn makes nearly identical money as Baker does now....

Sidebar
Maybe a widget on the sidebar that shows your rankings of the top potential draftees, with arrows to show if they have risen or fallen in the last week? That would give readers a quick, at-a-glance idea of how you feel players stacked up.
Maybe that would cannibalize your other content too much, though,

How about a piece on former baseball prospects that went onto different sports?

Something on Adam Lind?
After his monster 2009 season, things have changed for him in a big way. Obliviously most didn’t expect his breakout and there were some question marks. I’d love to see your thoughts.

Fist half call ups...
how about first half callups prior to the allstar break, that you expect to see(NL,AL).
who will shine and how will get sent back down…

Prospect development
I’d still love to see something about organizations that do a good systematic job of developing hitters or pitchers.
Id love to see a prospect retro
on one of the best closers in baseball. . . Jonathan Broxton

I am interested in how much these guys get paid
I am talking about the career minor leaguers, maybe get a septmeber callup butnever really make thebigs.
I'd love to see how family background affect on prospect
Hi John, thanks for the write-up for Rick Ankiel. As you might know, Ankiel’s dad actually forced a Spartan-like baseball training on Ankiel when he was growing up. Hence it might explains that Ankiel’s meltdown in pitching is an indirect result of the fear his dad installed in him. Hence, it raise my interest in asking my next question:
How much emphasis do scouts put on evaluating prospects’ family background?
If the stone tablets upon which the scouting reports were written still exist
I’d love a prospect retro on Jamie Moyer
You’re name has 2k9 in it — what are you some 8 year-old who makes Pillsbury Doughboy cookies and jerks off to that bullshit video game with Tim Lincecum on the cover--

I don't know if they exist or not
but I believe they were written in Hyoglifics(sp?)

something on relievers
kimbrel, storen, and other future late-inning relievers.
Adam Loewen as a hitter
If he has any chance of becoming a serviceable OF in the majors.
And Brian Anderson as a pitcher.
Or Sergio Santos.

how about a weekly prospect comparion
take 10 guys (different each week), by position or just guys who are closely ranked and compare their stats and what not for the week and include their lines for the entire season if possible. Just a good way to see which guys might be out playing others who were ranked higher/lower than each other.
Two part series
First: “I should have stuck with baseball.” A look multiple sport athletes who decided to pursue a professional sport other then baseball and either A: didn’t succeed in the other sport or B: Did succeed but you really wished they had stuck with baseball and can imagine what they may have accomplished.
The second part would be just the opposite, multi-sport athletes who chose baseball over the others but never went on to do anything, and what led to their lack of success in baseball.
Stats are not a euphemism for tits
Andrew Lambo and Dee Gordon holding their own at AA
at a young age/early in development.
These are just a couple of Dodger guys.. maybe a writeup about relatively highly ranked guys who were young/inexperienced for their league and are doing well thus far.

short pitchers
An article about whether there are inefficiencies in pitcher evaluations based on height. Could a team, whose system is completely stocked with pitchers under 6 feet, be competitve? (I would certainly include Lincecum as a sub-6-footer.)
Given the Jays bullpen
Includes Jason Frasor, and we have Tim Collins rushing through the minors i’d be very interested in such a piece.
The Curious Case of Pat Venditte
article explaining his blossoming as a prospect. What an interesting guy!
