Brian Matusz Community Projection
Going forward with the Community Projection project, so far we have three pitchers (David Price, Clayton Kershaw, and Derek Holland) and four hitters (Fernando Martinez, Jason Heyward, Travis Snider, and Alcides Escobar). I want to do three more players, so that we have five hitters and five pitchers. I want to get all these finished by April 10th, so we can track them as the season progresses.
Today's subject is Brian Matusz of the Orioles. Project the following numbers, in this order for data entry purposes

The Orioles have been very conscious of the 30 IP rule for their top pitching prospects, so I expect them to shut down Matusz (Tillman too) once they approach going beyond 30 IP of their 2009 inning total. I think Matusz starts out strong, has a few rough spots, learns to manage bad innings, and finishes the year with a strong string of starts. Overall I think he’s the kind of pitcher who shows the rare mix of consistent quality stuff and good control. The fact that he has 4 good pitches that he doesn’t necessarily lean on any particular pitch too much, gives him the ability to go to something else when something is not working.
It's just my pick

In short, I’m expecting a stunning season, flirting with 200 K but a little exposed by the long ball.
I want to breed [Matusz] with that female Japanese knuckleballer to create a race of super pitchers. --Weaver's Tantrum

I’m expecting him to hit the ground running, with his Park and youth contributing to higher HR numbers.
