Do you play fantasy baseball with anyone "important"?
Long time lurker, first time poster...
John's post about fantasy baseball got me wondering if anyone here plays with someone "important" or connected in their leagues? My friend swears he has a mid level front office guy in one of his leagues. Does anyone play against a prospect or even organizational guy? A front office guy of any kind? A scout? A parent of a player? A hot dog vendor? :)
Just interested to know ....

I was pretty disappointed as well
I put a lot of research into that league. Oh well, at least I have a much better knowledge of prospects in the next few 2011 and 2012 drafts now.
Nelson Frazier
AKA Mabel/Viscera/Big Daddy V from the WWE
… Not a front office guy, hot dog vendor, or that well known, but I think it’s pretty cool.
mlb bonus baby...
is dead to me now since andy deleted his dynasty league with no warning after all the work that went into it…
well, not really, but that was pretty disappointing. i felt like we ended up being some big study for a prospect hound who wanted to see who was of value 2-3 years out. lame. my twins team was going to be good…
I'm running a league almost identical to his
I have an opening for the Cardinals. If you are interested make an account and post in the signup board.

that was pretty much the worst
i had high hopes for my brewers
Agreed
Total waste of my time. I’m almost glad I sold off a lot of my draftpicks, since it led me to have a lot less involvement then needed.

Many of the fantasy experts at a major sports media outlet
are in our sim league. A couple are very well known.
Re:
I used to play fantasy football with Blake Parker — relief prospect for the Cubs. He was always a character though. One year he drafted Shockey with his first round pick and he never paid much attention. Usually finished last…

Matt Antionelli
One time I was in a draft and a guy who was friends with Matt Antionelli, and he drafted him. Then he called Matt to tell him…and Matt said “Why would you pick me?”
Touch em all Joe...
so basically
Matt Antonelli now sucks because he wanted to prove his friend wrong?
He sure showed him.
Amish
Up until these last two years my league had a few amish guys in it…. We would meet every Monday night to do all the transactions because the amishers didn’t have internet. Last year was the first year we’ve done everything online.

John Mozeliak
Is in my league.
I give him all my old hand me down pitchers…he thinks we have some kind of secret alliance going, but really I just take advantage of him to shed unwanted salary.
Pretty much the whole ESPN “brain trust” is in my league too – they love me for some reason, and always let me draft first every year.
