A Recent Prospect Draft
I wanted to share my league's prospect draft from last weekend. Although you are welcome to critique the picks, it is more for the benefit of those who may have similiar drafts coming up. Regarding our league, 10 teams, 12 rounds. Eligible prospects are those signed to contracts at draft time, less than 130 AB or 50 IP in the majors. Drafting teams retain the exclusive rights of prospects up to 1200 AB and 400 IP (or 120 appearances) in the majors. Since it's the 6th year of the league, most drafted players are '09 signed draftees, international bonus babies or guys that slipped through the cracks in previous drafts. 15 (non-prospect) major league keepers with the rest going into a major league draft. Enjoy.

Let me ask you this...
Out of those three players, who is the only one who projects as a potential middle of the order hitter?
I’d rank them Norris, Sano and then Green personally. I have Sano at #65 and Green at #66 actually… so basically a pick ’em.

I likely wouldn't take Sano that high...
but I don’t think its necessarily a bad pick. He has tremendous potential and projects as a plus power and plus hit tool batter.
Its unlikely Sano reaches his ceiling, but his ceiling is higher than the other two IMHO.
In fantasy I’d be less inclined to take the farther away player, especially given Norris and Green are also pretty good in their own right.

A few surprises...
I’m in a league (AL only) looking at a similar draft pool (09 draftees and guys who slipped through the cracks). It looks like Sizemore is the biggest surprise to me. He looks like a solid starting 2b who should contribute across the board. Getting him in Rd 6 is a steal.
