MLB Video Games - MiLB Systems

Hi All, I just got a PS3 and was wondering what MLB video game has the best minor league systems?  I did some quick looking around on the 'net about "MLB '10 The Show" and "MLB 2K10" but I can't find which has the better MiLB systems...

Any thoughts or input from the community on which of these 2 is better for MiLB systems, and which game is just better overall (graphics, game play etc)

thanks

i think they both suck

The makers of each game cant put actual minor leaguers in the game and mlb 2k10 has a 150 player name edit and 50 created player limit. I’m not sure exactly how The Show works but im sure that they might not have the saem player name edit as 2K does.

The Show

I know you can download the rosters of other users. Maybe there are a few that people have created with complete systems.

MVP Baseball 2005

There hasn’t been a good baseball game since. It included all of the BA top 100 prospects I believe.

I was a long time member and occasional modder over at mvpmods.com, and we had realistic milb rosters at every level.

different kind of beast

But definitely a game that everybody should at least check out in demo form if nothing else.

My one issue about it (and it’s a big one) is that since the 6.x versions, the interface has just been brutally bad. It’s really hard to do . . .anything. It’s a great game for the really involved types, but IMO Markus really needs to focus more on the “pick up and play”-ability factor. I have some hopes for this year’s product with some talk of an improved interface, but honestly it would have been hard for him to do worse. Drives me nuts as I’m a halfway decent interface away from being a junkie about this game.

I love it, and X was definitely the best version since I started playing around 7

But yeah, the interface is pretty terrible. There are some other problems with the game that I’d rather not delve into here, but really, those problems are all nitpicking when you consider how much better a simulator it is over any console baseball entry ever.

The Show

Marinerfanjake is right about the licensing issue. The Triple-A teams are fairly accurate since most players on those team have had at least a cup of coffee in the bigs so guys like Reddick, Thole, Bumgarner are in the game.

But for me as a Marlins fan, the double-A Jax Suns team doesn’t have Stanton, Morrison, Dominguez, just some made up names with made up stats and made up terrible skills.

The Show is awesome compared to 2K10, if you have a PS3 that’s the easy choice. The only thing I don’t like is you can’t change the length of the season on franchise mode.

The Show

is a decent game. Probably the best since the mvp 05ish days. But I will say that I bought it a few days ago, it froze while I was playing and then proceeded to break my ps3. Evidently the freezing issue isn’t an isolated incident, although I doubt it’s solely responsible for the demise of my system.

The Show by far

Keep an eye out for mknight’s roster update on SportsConnect. He has put out a stellar update with the top 100 or so prospects from each team in their systems. For more info on the rosters, check out this link.

*he has put out a roster in the past versions and is collaborating with other users in creating a new roster for the 2010 game. The rosters should be out soon…
