What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.

why are people voting for arrieta and decker? they aren’t even close to top 50 prospects, right?

by conezone on Feb 7, 2010 7:41 PM EST up reply actions

John Sickels grades Arrieta as a B+

Same as Castro. It would put both around the top 50. On another note, John only has Saunders as a B- . . .

by jaroche6 on Feb 7, 2010 11:26 PM EST up reply actions

Actually

he bumped Saunders up to a B.

It’s really tricky.

I see Crow, Scheppers, and Stewart as 3 guys who should have been on a while ago. Now two of them are on the poll and the third is sitting out. Confusing as to who to vote for. I’d rank them Stewart-Crow-Scheppers, so vote has to got to Crow here.

Tony Sanchez. More power, better defense, and better intangibles than Jason Castro. Castro has more speed and slightly better contact skills, but I think Tony’s positives outweigh Castro’s.

i like sanchez

but there is no evidence that his defense is as good or that he has better “intangibles.” castro should be the better offensive and defensive catcher. but sanchez might not be ALL that far behind.

by auclairkeithbc on Feb 7, 2010 7:02 PM EST up reply actions

Castro’s one great offensive line was a league Mirage, IMO. Just don’t see much excitement with him.

I’m much more enamored with Sanchez’ upside.

Scheppers

On pure stuff and ability Scheppers should have been on quite a while ago. Given questions about how well he would hold up its reasonable to hold that against him and move him down the list some. But I think this is far enough and will now be voting for him until he gets on the list.

thanks for the baseball cube links....

just one thing about them tho… all the pitchers linked go to their batting stats instead of their pitching..

I linked

to what came up when I searched their name. You can easily click the pitching tab right near the top.

i've been really busy the past couple weeks

so I haven’t gotten around to voting, but my workload just dropped quite a bit, so hopefully i’ll be able to start voting so more again. voted decker, love the discipline, love the power potential, his contact skills are decent too, i think he’s more athletic than people are thinking.
