We had 19 entries for the Alcides Escobar Community Projection. Here are the results:

138 games, 504 at-bats, 66 runs, 137 hits, 21 doubles, 5 triples, 4 homers, 27 walks, 81 strikeouts, 26 steals, 9 caught stealing, slash line .271/.316/.354. To calculate the OBP I assumed six hit-by-pitch.

For comparison purposes:

MLB Community Proj:    .271/.316/.354, .670 OPS, 26 steals, 9 caught, 504 AB.
Bill James Projection:   .288/.326/.377, .703 OPS, 42 steals, 12 caught, 504 AB.
CHONE Projection:        .291/.334/.389, .723 OPS, 26 steals, 11 caught, 453 AB.
Fangraphs Fan Proj:      .284/.322/.362, .684 OPS, 31 steals, 6 caught, 559 AB.

As you can see, the Minor League Ball community is less optimistic about Escobar's bat than other systems. This doesn't account for his defensive value, of course, which should be excellent.

Being that Escobar was just done,

I was wondering if you would do an Elvis Andrus Community Projection as well since they are similar players, but in different leagues…

JOHN, What do you think Escobar will do? Being an avid fan of yours, do you fall more in line with the community, or one of the other projection systems? Thanks!
