Angels, Blue Jays

could really restock. Angels have 5 of the first 40 picks; Toronto 4 of the first 41 and 10 of the first 126 picks.

Rays are in a good position, too.

As are the Rangers. But they’re both there for bad reasons. Astros having 3 out of the first 33 can also be big for them.

Im pretty excited about the Sox having 6 of the top 143.

They could do a lot of damage with that. Reminds me of 2005.

They havent drafted as high as #20 in a while, either.

As long as they're willing to spend the money

The idea of them is great

But the archaic way Type A/B free agents are determined is dumb.

Agreed

The Billy Wagner compensation is probably the most egregious example this year. Red Sox net the 20th and 38th pick for a guy that was on the team for a month that they gave up two nothing minor leaguers for.

That's not a fault in the system

that’s a fault in the Mets being idiots and/or relatively cheap.

Glavine

When the Braves signed Glavine away from the Mets after the ’07 season, I just about spit my Pepsi onto the monitor. Seriously, you want to give your first round pick to your bitter rival AND let them grab a sandwich pick, for an aging, declining HOFer?
