RIP Ron Santo
No one can claim to be a bigger fan of baseball, and in particular the Chicago Cubs, than Ron Santo who pased away today at age 70... The ultimate homer, Santo's passion for the Chicago Cubs was heard in every syllable that came through speakers on Cubs AM 720 Radio broadcasts. The one call that immediately comes to my mind everytime I hear his name is the Brant Brown play in 1998 as the Cubs were closing in on the post-season. Ron was never there to be an impartial commentator - he was rabid fan with a microphone and made no bones about it. RIP Ron.

that’s a shame. right b4 christmas too.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?
Its a shame
That he wasn’t inducted into the HOF before this.

He was a legend in Chicago
Growing up there, you couldn’t help but love Santo. I think it’s safe to say that every Cub fan out there, and every baseball fan in general, is going to really miss one of the franchise’s truly great guys.
An obvious Hall of Famer and one of the truly great Cubs, Santo’s always going to have a soft spot in my heart, even if I really only remember Santo: The Goofy Radio Announcer and not Santo: The Brilliant Third Baseman.
Baseball is my preferred sport. It should be yours, too.
