Around SBN: NFL Owners Vote to Change Trade Deadline

All I want for Christmas...

What would you like to see out of you favorite prospect/team this coming season? A positive development that are hoping to see...

IE

I hope that Ryan Berry manages to throw 90 pitches a couple times this season.

And that Brandon Snyder goes away..  Maybe we can convince the Royals to give us Gordon for him and LJ Hoes.

Oh, and for fantasy sake, for J Parker to come back 100% from surgery.

Oh, Merry Christmas (filler)

Mine

1. Freddie Freeman to provide enough offense to erase any questions about him being an everyday 1B
2. Jason Heyward to build on last season’s success
3. Mike Minor and Brandon Beachy to provide excellent work in the back of the rotation until Kris Medlen returns healthy (his return is a given as 3a.)
4. Julio Teheran and/or Randall Delgado to push the Braves hard enough that they can trade a starter in July/August for team needs in order to….
5. Return to the playoffs

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

why not trade 2 of the starters? I’m pretty sure the Yankees would love to have Lowe on that “CC and Hughes and pray for a deluge” staff if we were to pick up half of his remaining salary. I would do a Lowe for Gary Sanchez and Slade Heathcott if we pick up a % of Lowe’s salary. I think if the Yankees are in a playoff hunt, they would be willing to do the same.

Jair could be a VERY interesting option for some teams. I highly doubt we trade him, but if someone came along with an enticing offer, say, Shin-Soo Choo, for him then great. But I doubt that happens.

sanchez

the yanks would be crazy to give him up for lowe

by notsukao on Dec 25, 2010 10:24 AM EST up reply actions

If that % was 100

….the Yankees would still be crazy to move Sanchez and Heathcott.

by biggentleben on Dec 25, 2010 8:16 PM EST up reply actions

They might give up Heathcott

but there is no way they are giving up Sanchez for Lowe

by Braves24 on Dec 25, 2010 10:11 PM EST up reply actions

Depends

If they were willing to give up the package rumored for six weeks of Lee, what makes you think they wouldn’t do something “stupid” (to borrow Lolmorpl0x’s phrase) like trade Sanchez for Lowe?

by apoxonbothyourhouses on Dec 26, 2010 2:51 AM EST up reply actions

Lowe

…is not a CY winner that is viewed as one of the top 5-10 starters in the entire game. The package for him should be nowhere near what one would expect for a Lee. Comparing the two even remotely is fallacy.

Lowe would possibly bring back a 15-20 prospect from the Yankees if the Braves ate a good chunk of his salary. Unless the Yankees get very desperate, in which case, they may take all the salary for that level of player. Don’t intend to build the future franchise off of a Lowe-to-Bronx deal!

Perez,

Is a good bit behind Teheran and Delgado, at the moment. He’s not on their level yet.

For the BlueJays, to somehow make the World Series in the next 2yrs
For Travis Snider, to stay healthy for a full year and a manager who’ll give him regular at bats even if he falls into some slump

For Brandon Morrow————ONE MORE OUT
For Ricky Romero, continued improvement and more recognition across the baseball world
For Brett Cecil, continued improvement in the K-rate

A healthy & prosperous life. . . if that happens to include baseball, then we all get a special gift.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.

4.For Josh Sale to hit great
5.For the Rays to trade for Billy Butler
6. For anybody other than the Red Soxs or Yankees to win the AL East

No matter how much they are hyped, my teams always find a way to disappoint.

IDK

I’d put it at 4 or 5x better than New York but it might seem like splitting hairs.

Favorites?

Hak Ju Lee – Start in Peoria, put up a .300/.380/.440 line or so, maybe to go Daytona and try to top .270/.330/.360.

Brett Jackson – Rip AA, AAA, and then play the Cubs’ Sept. callup to love role.

Chris Archer – Do what Jackson does, but he gets the electrifying young arm out of the pen role.

Cashner – Start and look good.

LeMaheiu – Throw up a .300/.380/.480 season.

Jesus

For Jesus Montero to establish himself as a serviceable catcher, or a good combo C/DH so he can have C elg in fantasy and be able to dominate the position in fantasy and make my dynasty team unstoppable!!!!

The Jays to contend for the wild card

With Double A in charge, the Jays looked prime to make a move for the wild card over the next few years. Hopefully our GM will continue to pull some fast ones on his competitors and add players such as Escobar or Morrow at low costs.

Dewey and KBR are like Dr. Dre and Timbaland!!! All we do is produce hits!!!
