Cut Reddick. I have my doubts with him.

Thanks
But first of all I need to cut 4 players.
Secondly, I think Reddick, if traded, can be a pretty good player.
Ok... Alonso, James, Van Rosenberg.
I watch Reddick a lot, and like him, but his discipline worrys me.

I would personally try to trade Romine while his value is still high.
On top of that, I’d probably cut Ryan Lavarnaway, Jiwan James and Adam Warren or Zach Von Rosenberg.

+1
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

No on Lavarnway
I’ve seen him a lot. That kid is going to have an awesome bat.

Awesome enough for first base?
Because most scouts believe that he’s too big and stiff to stick at catcher long-term. Both Law and Callis have pretty clearly stated that they believe that Lavarnway will move off the position, and I just don’t see the upside then if he’s only a 1B/LF/DH kind of guy.

I've seen him catch.
The whole bad defense thing seems like a myth to me. He’s always looked solid behind the plate.
And he does have the power of a 1B, yes.

watch
some of the AFL action when he was behind the plate. At times it was like a little league catcher who kept running to the backstop after balls. He has a long way to go to become major league average. It can be done, but it’s not easy to improve as the quality of pitching increases.
I'm not saying that he can't be a regular at 1B
But I think that his ceiling at catcher is a legit star, but at 1B it’s really only an average everyday player or a tick above that. It’s just not that exciting.
And while you may think that defense thing is a myth, I’m going to go with the multiple, credible talent evaluators who think he’s essentially a lock to move. It’s not like this is one of those situations where a bunch of people say one thing, and then Law sees the player once or twice and says another thing (which happens). But in this case, I think that Lavarnway moving off catcher is awfully close to the consensus opinion on him.

if no trade happens
this would be my list as well (assuming you mean Jiwan.) You are extremely strong with young arms, though, so you could maybe cut Cruz or Crow if you want to keep Jiwan and his upside instead.

I'd just
bump Matusz, Storen, Chacin and Chapman up, don’t see how a few of them would even qualify for minors
Yep
No reason to cut anybody when you have quality guys you can just call up to you ML team.
If everybody likes you, then either no one knows anything about you, or you're dead.
This is definitely
a thought of mine, but once I call a player up, his clock starts ticking. My MLB rotation is as follows:
Garza
Buchholz
Hughes
Zito
Lester
And free agency hasnt begun yet….
My main bats as of now are:
David Wright
Josh Hamilton
Cano
McCann
Chris Young
Ike Davis
Sizemore
Call up some SP
I would say that Matusz, Chacin, Hudson, and bumgarner are all already just as good and probably better than Zito. Also guys like Chapman and Hellickson will both probably out pitch him in 2011.
Rookie eligibiity...
Best as I can tell, you already have 7 players who are no longer rookie eligible (by MLB standards), so unless your league uses some sort of grandfathering rule, they would need to be promoted anyway.
Saunders, Chacin, Bourjos, Hudson, AJax, Storen & Matusz would all need to be promoted, opening up your four spots, and then some. Chapman can be stashed, as he’s still under 50 IP and limits for time on the active roster.
We don't have to call up a player just because he reached
MLB eligibility. We can stash them for as long as we want. I may end up calling up a couple of guys because im weary of dropping some of the guys that have been suggested…..
I cant see how you could possibly have a handful of relievers better than Drew Storen that aren't worth cutting one of them for Storen.

I have ZERO
Releivers on my MLB Roster. I am waiting for free agency
In that case...
I might ask – do you a good enough pitching staff that adding at least Chacin, if not Hudson and Matusz as well, is not an improvement to your MLB team? Maybe the cuts need to be at the MLB level…just a suggestion.
Bourjos
His value is in his glove, not his bat. I don’t see much reason to keep him in a fantasy league
-1 and only member of the Nick Weglarz fan club!
i'm surprised
that Reddick is being mentioned on the list to be dropped. I would have thought Edward Salcedo would be there before him…..
I think a lot of people...
fear that Reddick just won’t get a chance and wind up a AAAA type player.
I see 11 Guys Who are Just Roster Filler
and Reddick is not one of them. Nor is Bourjos (if stolen bases is a category).
