Rookie Class of 2010 best prospect for future performance #19
After a poll and a runoff there is still no meaningful separation between Austin Jackson, Wade Davis and Ryan Kalish, who end up in a three way tie for 16, 17 and 18th place. Given the large separation between each of them and the group that follows I have no hesitation in naming the three of them to a tie for those three spots and then moving on to #19 in the poll.
The standings are now:
1. Jason Heyward, outfielder Atlanta Braves
2. Buster Posey, catcher San Francisco Giants
3. Stephen Strasburg, pitcher Washington Nationals
4. Carlos Santana, catcher Cleveland Indians
5. Michael Stanton, outfielder Florida Marlins
6. Madison Bumgarner, pitcher San Francisco Giants
7. Starlin Castro, shortstop Chicago Cubs
8. Brian Matusz, Pitcher Baltimore Orioles
9. Pedro Alvarez, third base, Pittsburgh Pirates
10. Neftali Feliz, pitcher, Texas Rangers
11. Logan Morrison, outfielder Florida Marlins
12. Jhoulys Chacin, pitcher Colorado Rockies
13. Daniel Hudson, pitcher Arizona Diamondbacks
14. Justin Smoak, first base, Seattle Mariners
15. Jaime Garcia, pitcher St Louis Cardinals
16t. Austin Jackson, outfielder Detroit Tigers
16t. Ryan Kalish, outfielder, Boston Red Sox
16t. Wade Davis, pitcher Tampa Bay Rays
Given that the three players who between them got about 80% of the vote have just come off the board it is particularly hard this round to decide who to put on the ballot and who to leave off. I am going to do my best, but if you want to vote for someone I don't list, which is very possible, just nominate him below and vote for him.
Based on last round's voting, I am going to temporarily drop Gaby Sanchez, Danny Valencia and Brennan Boesch. I am going to bring back Carlos Carassco, Travis Wood and Michael Saunders. And, for the first time, we are going to try John Jaso, Brett Wallace and Reid Brignac
Temporarily dropped players: John Axford 0% (14), Mike Leake 0% (14), Peter Bourjos 0% (14), Jake Arrieta 0% (14), Mitch Moreland 0% (15), Michael Brantley 0% (15); Gaby Sanchez 0% (16), Danny Valencia 0% (16), Brennan Boesch 0% (16),
.Players who have been suggested for addition in coming rounds or which I am considering adding include Josh Thole, Johnny Venters, Drew Storen, and Andrew Cashner, Tyler Colvin, and Alexi Ogando. If you have any preferences among this group, or if there are others who you think ought to be considered soon, please discuss below.
However with only 9 spots left to be won (assuming we go to 27), we have 10 players on the ballot, 9 more who have been temporarily dropped and another 6 to be added soon for a total of 25 players under consideration for those 10 spots. So, if you do want to add someone new to the mix it should be someone you prefer to many if not most of the players we are already considering.
As a reminder, voting is by +1.

What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.

Baseball is my preferred sport. It should be yours, too.

Tillman went 65 innings in 2009
and thus was considered in the 2009 poll, coming in 12th. If you want to vote for someone else instead, feel free.
Deep class
Almost 20 in, and I actually like Ike Davis to have a very solid career.
I dont get why you try guys like John Jaso over guys like Cashner, Venters, Colvin and Storen

because jaso is a good defensive catcher who puts up a .372 OBP and walks almost double the amount he Ks....
but otherwise yeah… he sucks
