40 man decision news?

With 40 man decision coming down now, or in the near future, I thought it might be worth it to have a thread discussing anything interesting on that. I'll write about the Cubs in the post, but am interested to know about other teams. There probably won't be many surprises, but I figure it's still worth talking about.

Anyhow, the Cubs made their decisions today and the 40 man now sits at 39. They protected 4 more (not including Robinson Chirinos, who was added earlier in the offseason). The Cubs protected Chris Archer, Brandon Guyer, Alberto Cabrera, and Kyle Smit. Nothing too surprising - Archer was a no brainer, Guyer's coming off a superb year and, with improved strength, some believe he might be capable of starting (comps have always been more of the Eric Byrnes/Reed Johnson variety). Cabrera's an electric arm with a fb that gets into the mid-90's and a solid slider. Dodgers fans could probably talk about Smit better than I can, but he has nice enough stuff to be a middle relief type potentially (although his control was bad in AFL).

Some of the more intriguing Cubs prospect types left off would probably be:

Marquez Smith - 3rd baseman with line drive pop coming off a good year in the PCL. Played some 2nd base in the A ball levels, but didn't show enough capability there.

Steve Clevenger - With the Cubs having at least 4 catchers on the 40 as of now, there was no way he was going to get protected, but the former IF shows good contact ability and is solid and consistent defensively.

Luke Sommer - Former OF, this lefty gets groundballs. Nothing special, but pen arms tend to be the types that have a shot at sticking.

Any interesting news for your teams?
