Rookie Class of 2010 Best Prospect for Future Performance #12
A lot of players getting multiple votes this round. Logan Morrison, moves to the top of the pack and wins designation and the #11 prospect for future performance. The voting last round was as follows:
Logan Morrison 30%, Jhoulys Chacin 20%, Daniel Hudson 14%, Jaime Garcia 12%, Justin Smoak 9%, Ike Davis 5%, Neil Walker 5%, Austin Jackson, 3%, Wade Davis 2%, Ryan Kalish, 2%, Danny Valencia 0%
and the overall standings at this point are:
1. Jason Heyward, outfielder Atlanta Braves
2. Buster Posey, catcher San Francisco Giants
3. Stephen Strasburg, pitcher Washington Nationals
4. Carlos Santana, catcher Cleveland Indians
5. Michael Stanton, outfielder Florida Marlins
6. Madison Bumgarner, pitcher San Francisco Giants
7. Starlin Castro, shortstop Chicago Cubs
8. Brian Matusz, Pitcher Baltimore Orioles
9. Pedro Alvarez, third base, Pittsburgh Pirates
10. Neftali Feliz, pitcher, Texas Rangers
11. Logan Morrison, outfielder Florida Marlins
I'm going to keep everyone except Danny Valencia, as Kalish and Wade Davis has gotten some support in prior rounds. I'm going to bring back Jose Tabata and Carlos Carassco and add in, for the first time, Travis Wood. In addition to some interesting hitters there are now a whole bunch of pitchers who had strong rookie years to choose from. It's going to be interesting to see who emerges this round.
temporarily dropped players: Jonathon Niese 0% (7), Mike Leake 0% (8), Peter Bourjos 0% (8), Mitch Moreland 0% (8), Danny Valencia
Players who have been suggested for addition in coming rounds include John Axford, Jake Arrieta, Chris Tillman, Michael Brantley, Michael Saunders, Josh Thole, Johnny Ventersm Drew Storen and Andrew Cashner. If you have any preferences among that group for addition, even if you are not quite ready to vote for them, you can discuss below.
As a reminder we are still voting by +1, either for a listed candidate or your write in.

hudson is filthy. personally, i like him more than matusz.
I heard Tim Lincecum will win 1 Cy Young & 11 Tim Lincecums. Question is, how many Cole Hamels will he win?

Can’t fault anyone for picking Chacin or Hudson given Davis’ struggle this year and their respectively great debuts. However, these three seem like very similar pitchers to me in terms of tools so I don’t understand why he isn’t getting more love.

don’t see how he is not getting any love
…they should send down Huntington & Nutting, because they aren’t ready, either. - royshowell

I am surprised that no one is voting for Kalish.
I also feel that Smoak and Hudson should be over Chacin. I Think Chacin can be a good player in the future but i think Hudson will be a better one and that Smoak (Apples and Oranges) will live up to most of the expectations taht are given to him.

Top hitter left on my board
I’d have had him in before Alvarez, actually. I have to go with Chacin for now, but it’s between him and Garcia next for me
why is smoak getting so much love when he hasnt done anything so far?
just wondering why you guys think he’ll be better than these other guys who have shown life
