Jonathan Singleton moves to LF

Apparently in a move to find a spot for Singleton with the massive Howard contract in his way, the Phillies have moved Singleton to LF for instructional league games and plan on playing him there next year.

Reports on Singleton's play in the outfield have been positive enough that Looper now considers the 19-year-old Californian an outfielder. [...] "He's shown enough arm, athleticism and instincts to run balls down," Looper said. "He doesn't look out of place out there."

Unfortunately, the BA article on it is protected content or I'd post the entire article (located here). I'm still pretty skeptical given how big he was when I saw him in West Virginia, but this is definitely a noteworthy development.

Also in the article:

Righthander Jarred Cosart, who was shut down with elbow soreness at midseason, hit 98 mph in an instructional league game.
