Which young pitcher do you think will have the better MLB career?
A bit of an "off-the-beaten-path" comparison but I'm interested in the relative views on these 2 prospects.
They are both young. Both have FB's that top out ~ 96ish and encouraging secondary pitch development.
Betances still has more "projectability" left in his frame. Jungmann is fully developed. Betances has had some early career "down time", although passed all tests in 2010 and appears healthy and I see no reason for a major injury discount. I anticipate that Betances can fly up top prospect lead tables by mid year 2011 and the resultant "Yankee hype factor" will kick in as well.
Jungmann takes a bit of a back seat to Cole and Purke with regards to the 2011 draft class, although I think frankly he's in the same neighborhood and I think that Cole really needs to make some strides with his command.
Which one do you like and why?
