One year from now...
am interested in some guys that the community feels will break out over the next 12 months. It can be guys that didnt get the publicity this year or recent signees or guys who had subpar years due to injury or even playing at the wrong level. I have a few that I think will make that step...Ilets dig deep and find some guys

Hand
i think he could be a real good pitcher in a few years once he smoothes out his mechanics because he has a solid arsenal of pitches already and he’s only 19.

Arodys
Agree, but any word on the injury? I read back issues a few weeks back but haven’t heard anything since.

this is all i found
from a yanks blog:
Arodys Vizcaino, meanwhile, was placed on the 7-day DL. I’m sure the team is just being careful with his back issue.

he was walking nearly 10 per 9 last year in the AZL, down to 3.58 per 9 in the Appy this year. might be a future reliever, but tons of upside!
and i hope Delty Cleary makes it because of his awesome name.
my KC pick to really break out is John Lamb…you could say he is breaking out this year but next year he will start to get more respect…
baseball rules.
Mets
Cesar Puello
Kyle Allen
bounce back for Jefry Marte
Robbie Shields will have a great year offensively next year
Rangers
Robbie Ross, Michael Main, Braden Tullis and Matt Thompson.
The 2009 Texas Rangers offense: sigh...
Michael Main indeed!
The guy has been breaking my heart all year. I hope whatever the problem was this time around has been figured out since the talent is still clearly there.
(I had to cut Teheran and Westmoreland to keep Main… yuck :/)
Kellen Kulbacki
If dude gets back on the field healthy in AA to start the year, he’ll be in San Diego no later than exactly 12 months from today, and he’ll hit there too.

And, semi-breakout
I know he’s pretty well known, but Jaff Decker is a 19 year old with an OPS 50 points higher than any other hitter in the MWL. A year from now he’ll be wrapping up his 20 year old season in the Texas League, still own a career OBP north of .430, and all the guys who’ve knocked him for his physique will actually have seen him play and shut up about that.

Cubs
SS Hak-Ju Lee
IF Ryan Flaherty
OF Brett Jackson
one year from now
Ryan Westmoreland will be the Redsox top prospect and top 10 prospect in the minors.
Jason Heyward will be coming off a successful debut
Kyle Lobstein will be the Rays next breakout pitching prospect
Jennry Mejia will be in the Neftali Feliz mode in the majors
Tommy Hanson will be gunning for his 15th or 16th win putting up great numbers.
Lincecum and Kershaw will be 1-2 for the NL CY.
I was going to say Lobstein
he has had 10/10/9 K’s in his last 3 starts and seems to be really getting it going again.
Westmoreland
I think if he stays of the DL that you are 100% right. I also have heard great things about Lobstein
von rosenburg had a solid debut in GCL and i like Pereira but Freeman really struggled this year

Freeman...
has big time power and the point of the thread was to pick guys who we tought would break out next year. I think Freeman will tear the cover off the ball. I could see him breaking out and becoming a Mike Stanton type.
how can he become a Stanton when they are both currently 19?
Stanton is 19 and in AA.
Freeman is 19 and in rookie ball.
a Stanton-type is not all that common
Rays
Alex Colome- Sky high upside, very raw
Jason McEachern- IMO, one of the best pitching prospects you’ve never heard of.
Kyle Lobstein- Very good, will be the ace of the Bowling Green staff this year.
Ty Morrison- starting to turn those tools into skills.
Everbody's Nobody
view my youtube vids of McEachern
He has a Chris Tillman bender.
Reese Havens
His BABIP will recover and he’ll get out of the power suppressing FSL and he’ll make the Eastern League his bitch.
I am beginning to lose patience
With my personal relations.
They are not deep
And they are not cheap.

He should put up nice power numbers next year in Binghamton
The park plays quite friendly to lefty batters with the wind usually blowing out to RF.
Kyler Burke
2 way Supplemental pick from 07 that the Padres traded only a year after drafting him. He’s old for the Midwest league, but I think he’s beginning to find his stride.
Considering the guy is 21, I wouldn’t call him old for the league. This is his third go-round in the MWL, so it only feels like he’s old for the MWL.
I’m really curious to see what happens with him next season. He’s very good defensively and if he can continue putting up .300/.400/.500 lines as he advances, he’ll be a fantastic prospect.

call me a homer
but I think Lars Anderson will regain his hype from last year the beginning of this season. Count this year as a lost season.
of guys who struggled this year
my money’s on moustakas rebounding big

re Twins
I read that quickly and thought it said David Ortiz.
For the A's
Anthony Capra.
Already striking out everyone in sight this year. Think he can break out and become a legit prospect next season.

To be completely accurate...
it should say David Arias.
Trevor May
I have seen him pitch 3 times this season. The first two were very good, but tonight he was very wild even though he did improve his breaking pitches. In those three starts he hasn’t allowed a run, but I have started worrying about him. I do see him an improving prospect maybe even top 10 in the Phillies with all these guys getting traded. Top 20 at least, but top 10 isn’t farfetched. Hopefully he keeps moving up. Nice Consistent Fastball he has.
Nieuwenhuis and Lutz
Will combine with Reese Havens to destroy the Eastern League. I expect Nieuwenhuis to finish next year in the top 75, and Lutz to be just outside the top 100, assuming he stays healthy. Both these guys can really hit.
I've liked Lutz since he was putting up nintendo numbers at Alvernia
He seems to have a great deal of difficulty staying on the field, though. What sort of injuries has he been battling?

I don't think anything particularly serious
Just a lot of nagging stuff.
Not entirely sure though.
Christian Betancourt
Not too many catchers posting .277/.342/.446 lines as 17 yr olds between GCL and the Appy League.
I think he full-season debuts at 18 next year, and if he hits in Rome he’s going to garner some real attention, because everything I’ve heard on the guy suggests he’s going to stick at catcher.
Q: If on-base pct is so important then why don't they put it on the scoreboard? -Failcoeur
A: Because the Braves don't want to show their fans how bad you suck.
