Jeremy Hellickson continues to deal
8 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 12 K's tonight for Durham against Gwinnett. Three straight double digit strikeout performances now.
Overall, his numbers at AAA are as follows: 50.1 IP, 28 H, 15 BB, 61 K, 2.86 ERA.
107.1 IP, 69 H, 29 BB, 123 K overall between AA and AAA this year. He might not have ace upside, but this guy is a really good pitching prospect. Thoroughly impressed with his performance thus far in Durham, I thought he'd have some struggles in AAA.

Easily a top 10 pitching prospect in the minors
Easily. Maybe top 5.

yep
i was the only one to even mention him in a mid-season / early august list. and i under-rated him too.
Love this kid for awhile now
I had him at #39 on my list I sent to siddfynch in the offseason, never understood why more people didn’t like this guy.
RIP Nick Adenhart
he always seemed to have the rap that his "stuff" wasn't good enough for the higher levels
but he is disproving a lot of ppl right now.
I'm relenting with every start.
You did say he was dominating a bit before he was. NOW he is dominating.
That's only 'cause I was too lazy to do one :p

His Swinging Strike's might be the most impressive part about him
he had 16 in about 106 pitches (don’t remember exactly) which is 15% and that is actually lower than his last couple starts. He is absolutely dominating and I think should be considered one of the top 3-5 pitching prospects in all of baseball next year.
how is that impressive in the minors?
i dont think swinging strike percentage in the minors matters… cause people down in the minors dont know how to hit quality pitches..
He's answered every question
Im still not sold on his ceiling – its an open question IMHO, but kid sure looks like he’s going to be at least an around average MLB pitcher and the kind that attacks the strike zone and is fun to watch.
His floor is basically a #3 starter
which is ridiculous. (Well, his arm could fall off. But any pitcher’s arm could fall off, except for Dan Haren’s. The concept of floor would have no meaning for pitchers if you include catastrophic injuries.)
Like, he’s not going to be any worse than Joe Blanton even if he never develops any further at all. And Joe Blanton is pretty valuable. If he takes a step forward… well, he could be the next Haren himself.

1/2/3 punch with David/Price...
and laughable to consider he’ll drop in the 4/5 slot with Garza still learning and improving, no?
wish he’d get a callup now, or at least a spot-start before playoffs come to build for next season.
