Good day everybody. Here are some probable pitchers for today's action:
Triple-A has Andy Sonnastine, Jake Arrieta, Chris Narveson, Joe Martinez, Brandon Morrow, Trevor Bell, T.J. Beam, Lenny DiNardo, and Cesar Carillo
Double-A is light with the Eastern League taking a day off, but Andrew Cashner and Trevor Reckling are throwing
The only high-A game is Brevard County (Michael Bowman) against Dayton (James Leverton)
Low-A features Tim Melville, T.J. House, Ross Seaton, and Manuel Banuelos.

Formerly Gallagher's Watermelons
Andrew Cashner making a strong case to be a starter...
6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, ERA now sits at 0.88 in AA
Paul Thomas and RedSoxFaithful are in my Wolfpack.
The reports on his change development
Seem to be very positive. Add in the slider, and good movement on the fastball, and only things he needs to really focus on, if the change is decent enough as some have suggested, is tighten up the slider and work deeper.
Jason Heyward
Anyone know why is left the game tonight ??
utoh...
The Second Coming of Christ got hurt?
Chris Carter
2-2 BB 2B HR.. Average up to 325. OPS 977. Beast.
Weeks first game in AA 1-3 with an Error.
Matt Spencer 2-3 with a HR. Hes quietly having a pretty good year.
"Their Triple-A rotation, led by Trevor Cahill and Brett Anderson, could be better than some big-league rotations; Michael Ynoa is the best Latin American prospect of the decade; 2008 draftees Jemile Weeks and Rashun Dixon bring much-needed tools to an advanced group of hitters." - BaseballProspectus.com
The guy is a freak right now
batting .474+ over his last 10 games.
He batted .365 for the month of July—that’s pretty good.
Chris Carter
Actually at .500 for the last 10 games if you put in today’s and remove the one from 10 days ago. About the only chink in the armor I see is that his OPS on the road is a relatively .800 or thereabouts while his home OPS is over 1.100. Not sure how big a concern that is but I would feel better if the splits were a little more even.
In the majors now, Feliz K's the side in his debut
Against the A’s, take it FWIW
Solace: Law says he's a fourth OFer

Lone Star Ball
Is in danger of blowing its servers right now. Since Feliz took the mound,we’ve had give or take 3000 comments, mostly boiling down to ‘HOLY SHIT’ and ‘THANKS JOHN SCHUERHOLZ!’
Kanye, you want to be the voice of this generation? Get in line! It goes me, Obamagirl, the Freecreditreport.com guys, then It's a tie between you-and Crocs.

What are they saying at LSB now?
Haha

We're still saying
holy shit, thanks Braves. Feliz’ debut — and the wow stuff he displayed, hitting his spots with 3 pitches at 3 distinct speeds each about 10 mph apart — is way more important in the long run than a blown save.

I know
Just messin with ya. All in good fun.

insult to injury
the Cruz ankle thing sucked more than the loss, ouch. He and Young are about the only guys really hitting right now.

He hit 101 and 100 at least 5 times on my count
though that could be a fast gun. He has used the curve sparingly through the first two innings but his fastball is awesome enough. I am not looking forward to the prospect of the Mariners facing him for the next 6+ years. Atlanta is still finding ways to screw us past the Soriano trade.

Feliz Just Jumped Into The Top 10 At LEAST In My Rankings.
Hey guys, I run a music blog. alternative, powerpop, punk, electronica, screamo, etc etc, check it out. http://muzikdizcovery.blogspot.com/ artist interviews and many other stuff. free cookies! (not really, but still) :D
His Control Issues
Left me underwhelmed for most of this year. Bullpen shift also affirmed that.

The sample size was distorting things a bit I think
His first start he had 6 BBs in 4 IP. After that, his BB/9 as a starter was 3.11 (which would be an obvious improvement over his 4.57 K/9 in AA last year). He also improved as the year went on, as he had a 1.20 K/9 in his last 4 starts, and a 2.08 K/9 as a reliever.
plus
He’s a 21 year old who was in AAA, averaging a k per inning and he doesn’t give up HR’s. There is A LOT to like there. There’s an excellent chance his control will improve. Simply put, Feliz might be my favorite pitching prospect of all right now.
James Jones
2-3, HR. Athletic 20 year old pitcher/outfielder from Long Island College drafted in the 4th round this year, the Mariners have put him in the OF. .415/.483/.585 and a 7/10 BB/K ratio so far in A- ball. Good guy to start tracking.
Rangers
Julio Borbon: 1-4 RBI
Chris Davs : 0-4 K
Justin Smoak: 2-4 HR 2RBI BB K
Mitch Moreland: 1-4 2K
Michael Kirkman: 6.0IP 5H 4R 1ER 2BB 6K 0HR
Neil Ramirez: 3.0IP 2H 3R 2ER 4BB 5K 1HR
Carlos Pimentel: 5.0IP 2H 0R 1BB 6K
Miguel Velazquez: 1-3 2BB 2R
Braden Tullis: 4.2IP 7H 5R 5ER 2BB 3K 0HR
Edwin Escobar: 5.0IP 6H 2R 2ER 0BB 4K 0HR
The 2009 Texas Rangers offense: sigh...
Snider at it again
3-3, HR (10), 2b, 2rbi, 3r
Now up to 308/408/631
13.8 BB%
23.0 K%
It only seems like yesterday that people were asking:
