Minor League Managers
Hi Folks!
Seeing that a lot of you guys watch minor league baseball games, I was wondering if any of you know of any promising managers currently at the helm of minor league teams that you would say should get a crack of managing a big league team? Personally, I've been a fan of Chris Chambliss who is currently at the helm of the Charlotte Knights, and would be a great replacement for Ozzie if and when Ozzie goes off the deep end. Who are your choices for some prime managerial prospects?

Decker
The one thing I remember about Steve Decker was when he was catching for Bud Black, so their battery was called: “Black & Decker” LOL!
I've got a McPheever, and only JoJo Reyes can help me!

Decker
I went to the same HS as Decker, a few years after though. I met him at Spring Training one year and he gave me a bat. I’ve been a bigger fan ever since.
I know this has nothing to do with his managerial abilities, but I still wanted to share.

Absolutely Steve Decker and Andy Skeels in San Jose are the future of the Giants.
Awaiting his arrival in SF: Jesse English

Ryno
A lot of folks believe he’s being groomed for the Cubs job after Lou. He jumped over Jody Davis (who was reassigned as a roving catching instructor), from Low A Peoria to Tennessee.
Marty Pevey has also done a great job with the Cubs Peoria squad this year, but he’s a bit down the pecking order.

Ryno
I just do not see it. He has the heart of Cubs fans, but I just do not see him as a manager. I know the Lou comps are there because he is a hot head, but I would be very surprised to see him succeed as a major league manager.

Not very many really good players go on to become good managers

Great call!
The best part was still the crawling behind the mound!

Ron "Pop" Warner
Springfield Cardinals manager. I’ve heard and read that he will be a serious contender to take the major league job when Tony LaRussa finally calls it quits.

Rocket Wheeler
Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He may not be the future of the Braves’ coaching staff, but damn he’s entertaining.

I know the Mets organization loves Ken Oberkfell, former Minor League Manager of the Year in 2005, he should get a shot as a manager some day, just not sure where.
