Travis Snider Promotion Inevitable?

OF Travis Snider, who is expected to be recalled to fill the vacant roster spot left by the departed RF Alex Rios, has regained his batting stroke at Triple-A Las Vegas. In 42 games with the 51s, Snider is batting .320 (48-for-150) with 12 home runs and 36 RBI.

Snider has been a very good prospect and is still only 21(ish), so he's got a lot of room to grow and should fit into the middle of the Blue Jays' lineup nicely.

What do you think?

I picked him up

On that assumption. He really struggled when he was first sent down and then went on the DL. Now he’s on fire and raking at AAA, which he basically skipped when he started the year with the big club. Perhaps this is an effort to keep his service time down, but I have to think he’s coming up very soon.

Also, a question for anyone who cares to answer. Who would you rather have in a standard 5×5 (plus OPS) 20 team fantasy league — Snider or Delmon Young?

Service Time

Not an issue right now, he’s in the clear as far as Super Two status goes. They can recall him right now, which I assume they will. I also hope Cito plays the kid every day, yes, even against lefties Mr. Gaston. He’s not going to get better by never facing them.

fantasy question...

I’d go with Snider, because I think he gets more AB’s the rest of the year.

No Snider yet....

The Jays called up some 1st baseman/dh named Ruiz, I think it’s to avoid having Snider be a Super 2.

Gonna be a little bit before Snider is up. Probably because he or Lind can’t play rightfield?

Twins had him up last year

don’t think he’s a rookie anymore, he’s an experienced vet.

For how long?

He didn’t exceed the 130 at bats limit.
