Tyson Gillies
Lets have a look at this underrated, rarely mentioned 20 year old Canadian who's quietly having one of the better seasons in the High-A ball. Gillies has put up intriguing numbers across the board, especially for a centerfielder.
295 ab's, .325, 8 doubles, 9 trips, 6 hr, 26 rbi's, 45 walks, 55 k, 23 sb, 12 cs, .911 ops.
Lots of pop and speed, and an above average at the plate. Obviously the speed helps tremendously in CF. It will be interesting to watch his progression.

Love Love Love
Been one of my favorite prospects. Also as a fun fact he has little hearing in both ears and reads lips mostly. Power has been mostly due to High Desert, however he could hit 5-10 on a good year. I see something like hitting .290-300 with a OBP +90 or 100 points from average and 30-40 steals.
Hey guys, I run a music blog. alternative, powerpop, punk, electronica, screamo, etc etc, check it out. http://muzikdizcovery.blogspot.com/ artist interviews and many other stuff. free cookies! (not really, but still) :D

“he has little hearing in both ears and reads lips mostly”
his dedication makes me an even bigger fan.
Granderson II?
“I don’t like throwing big league names around in comparison to Minor League players because guys who are big leaguers have earned that respect,” he prefaced. "But (Mariners special assistant to the GM) John Boles and a lot of others have compared him to (Detroit Tigers star) Curtis Granderson because that’s the kind of kid we think we have here. And of course that would be tremendous for this organization. He has that type of physical potential and that type of makeup. "
Granderson
I don’t see Gillies having the same kind of game power as Granderson. Even in the launching pads of the CAL, most of Gillies’ XBH have been of the speed variety (9 triples vs. 14 2B+HR). Of course the lazy man’s comp would be a Brett Butler type – speedy, defensively-inclined leadoff hitter with a keen batting eye and isn’t afraid to take a pitch. I just don’t see the power ever blossoming.
Gillies has room to grow in the power dept.
I’m not saying he’s going to go out and hit 20 homers one year, but he’s not going to be a slap/bunt happy guy his whole career. He’s got some physical skills that suggest a bit of power. Hopefully it works out. He’s one of my favorite prospects.
Kid’s got a cannon arm, too.
