Update and Suggestions Thread

I'm going to do a Garrett Jones profile this weekend. I'm also trying to finish up a couple of research projects before August 1st....I want to do a lot of travelling in August and need to get things cleared off my desk first. One of those projects is the Rotowire 100 update, which I should have finished by the end of next week. I'll also post updates at Rotowire on any trades involving prospects, and will also have "quick takes" here.

In the meantime, suggest other things you'd like to see besides the Jones profile. One of the things I'm planning for August is a look at how the pre-season Top 20 in each organization is doing, but I want to get beyond the trade deadline first.

Miguel Montero

He’s been hitting quite well recently, and was a solid hitter in the minors. It appears that he will hold onto the starting gig even with Snyder back this week due to his hot bat.

Now raise your goblet of rock. It's a toast to those who rock!

Would like to see this as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing a piece on the greatly under looked....

…Zach Britton. With all of the talent in that system, Britton seems to always slip through the cracks.

One thing that I've always wondered about

Why don’t you do a regular chat? We get them from most places weekly, but you only do them once every few months. I know that the radio show usually functions as something of a chat, but even just committing a couple hours bi-weekly could really be a popular addition, and allow you to comment on things that you wouldn’t otherwise think to talk about.

I know the AQA threads are a huge commitment, so even something where you just dedicated an hour or two every couple of weeks by selecting 20-40 questions of interest to comment on would be an excellent addition IMO.

Love the Stanton vs. Heyward Smackdown...

How about a smack of Reid Brignac (TB) vs. Chris Nelson (Col) vs. Jason Donald (Phi). All prospects that have yet to live up to their potential, still have time, and might all be getting a change of scenery as the trade deadline nears.

How about some sort of comparison

between Randy Wells and Brad Bergesen. Two rookie groundball pitchers that didn’t get a lot of attention as prospects, but are doing very well in their first season in the majors.

I am like your Dan Aykroyd and biglow would be Jane, the ignorant slut. -Chad

Not sure if this is the right spot for this question but-

When a team trades for a player, does the team also trade all the paperwork on that player?

Such as: Internal scouting reports pre and post draft, medical-phyc reports, background checks past and present, discipline problems, things the franchise have tried to teach/change at different levels in the minors and results of said changes.

I could see If a team included as much paperwork as possible on traded payers and genuinely tried to help the other team get as much as possible out the said player, more teams would want to trade with them and was just wondering what protocol was.

Cuddyer

How about a Michael Cuddyer prospect retro.
I know he raked in the minors and would love to see John’s write up.

I will throw out two players....

Andy Marte and Delwyn Young. I think these guys were pretty high on most people’s prospect lists at once point in time, and although they aren’t the 22-23 yr old up and comers, they still have plenty of time to figure things out. They are both starting to pick it up, Young in PIT and Marte in AAA for CLE. I would love to see any new analysis on what they have done different or adjustments they made to be more successful as of late.

John, have you considered starting a twitter account?

I would definitely follow that. Just reactions to player performances, etc…

You should look into it. It could also be a nice way to boost the website following.

New Thread Suggestion

What about a new topic where you predict the outcomes of seasons from….wait for it….THE FUTURE!!! In all seriousness, it would be cool and fun to prognosticate the results of, say, the 2012 season. I’m not talking comprehensive breakdown of every team but maybe just a few…

- Top two teams in each league.
- MVPs of each league
- CY Youngs of each league
- Top pitching staff
- Top offense
- WS matchup and eventual champion.

I think that would be a fun topic and sure to incite a riot or two on here. Plus, the future is all us Tribe fans have!

Thanks
