All Star Game Open Thread

Here is an open thread for the All-Star Game. I had been planning on liveblogging this, however Jeri has had to take an emergency trip out of town due to sick relatives, and I'm on kid patrol tonight.

All the injuries to the Al...

…this might be the year the NL manages to lose by only a run or two.

Probably not, though.

Another injury

Longoria is out (espn), Michael Young will replace him in the starting lineup. Chone Figgins will come in to take his roster spot.

NL fans kind of shot themselves in the foot

by voting in Molina and Wright as starter. But I still think they’ll win this year finally. Lineup is too strong, very good pitching (though Haren should be starting).

AL fans voted in Hamilton

Can someone replace Joe Buck?

Is every play a brilliant, magnificent, stupendous play that might be the best that’s ever happened in the history of everything? Tone it down Joe. Go back to sucking on Tim Tebow’s you know what.

Artie Lange

He can replace him. We saw how this junkey hi-jacked his HBO show.

I'm just curious

Do you think Jayson Werth deserved to make the all star team? He has 20 HR and 12 SB, but a sub-900 OPS as an outfielder (for a 129 OPS+).

Hate to say it

but he deserved it more than Josh Hamilton, who was in based purely on good will. Hitting .243 with six homers? It’s always problematic to vote in guys who’ve been out with injuries. Of course, he had a hit and an RBI, so…
