PrintAnybody have any idea when Clay Buchholz will actually get called up to start? I know it's been announced that he will be the starter in the first game after the All-Star Break, but when will the Sox officially call him up?
I'm not sure if there's any sort of trend in the time of day teams call minor leaguers up, or if there's any other way of knowing when - I hope nobody suggests Twitter...

Either way, the Sox made it clear that this is a one and done start. He is supposedly going right back down after his start.

i suspect this is a fantasy-related question. otherwise, there’s no reason to care what time/day the call-up happens.
I disagree
though I do believe this to be fantasy related, many are anticipating the arrival of Buchholz regardless of whether one has a fantasy team or not. I think many do care the time and day of call up because they are giving this guy a chance to show his talent.

Theyll probably wait until a few hours before, just to be safe. They usually do with transactions.

Is there any way to get texted when he gets called up?
I hope this doesn’t sound as ridiculous to anybody else, I’m just very anxious. Any sites or anything that would send a text to a cell phone?

I wish, but I’m sure I’m just one of many who have thought of this kind of thing. Although it would be nice to put a little © next to that idea.
