Casey kelly
looks like he could throw in the bigs right now, he looks very solid.
Adoptive parent of Kyle Nicholson
I get the same feeling about Kelly that i got about Drabek
looks like he belongs
weglarz
weglarz looks like the kind of guy who will have a huge age 27 breakout, be really good for a couple of years, then fizzle
Nick Weglarz
I’m pretty excited about him, and that shot to left was a nice oppo shot

he's a bit up in my book
the big thing against him was supposed to be his unathletic self. he looks good
reputation
sometimes reputations stick with a guy even when undeserved. important to make your own judgments.

santana
might not hit for a great average. power and patience will play though.

Does this mean the Pirates have two players, while the Cubs obly have one?

I figure the Pirates had one on the original roster. Then they add Duke.

because of the rain delay
and espn switching it to ESPN2 direct tv’s DVR only caught the very beginning.
How did flowers look on defense?
yeah
Yeah, I like this guy. Needs tighter command though

trust me
trust me, they will talk about how speed one this game, but won’t mention Castro’s big home run.
I think John Maddon
would have been a better baseball announcer than these clowns.

just to be clear
Just to be clear….I have no problem with speed. I love speed. You need speed.
But it gets fetishized by announcers.
indeed, because it reminds them of the “good old days”. As if players were so much quicker back then.
Anyway, I’ll never understand the obsession mainstream reporters have with small ball, bunts, steals, etc.
yeah
Yeah, and speedsters don’t take speed, lol :)

combined operations
I believe in combined operations…..power AND speed. Battleships AND battlecruisers working together.
Or better yet…..fast battleships!

If they end the game with a tie
and they don’t play extras, i will be angry

Don't worry
Castro will come up again in the bottom of the seventh.

i know im some
peoples eyes Dayan has been a disappointment this year, but he has constantly been making adjustments and taking everything the other way this year at Birmingham. Alot of sox fans think he will wind up like Carlos Lee, i think thats a fair comp.
when
I seen him down at Jackson TN, I thought he looked solid and fluid over at 3B; he could still afford to loose some more weight, but I came away thinking he might not need a position change. I think in the second half we will see his power really come on, and his approach at the plate has gotten better month by month.
I'm working on a piece, about the 2001 top-100 prospects
anybody you want me to focus on?

What KG said:
Look, lots of credit to Castro and everything, but that was an incredibly bad pitch.

Not a bad adjective for what we've seen thus far from him.
Not loose and flowing I think would also work.

gotta get a pitch to be able to hit it, showed a good eye not tryingto force it and be a hero. Also smart to swipe the bag and remove the force
a marlins fan? you exist??

yes and a season ticket holder for 10+ years. Strange to hear from a braves fan the group that cant even sell out playoff games.
But those type of comments arent needed here.
Stanton did look nervous up there some I think would be a better statement for it then clunky but he didnt look horrid overall just didnt wait for his pitch the first time and this time he was very cautious. The key there is to get on to try to get the chance to be a run not to force what isnt there. :)
It was a good game to see overall
Hey, be nice...

too bad Mejia missed the game
would have been interesting who threw harder Feliz or Mejia.
Feliz hit 101 at least twice

Gillies
http://www.minorleagueball.com/2009/7/9/943689/tyson-gillies
There’s my opinion on him.
Hey guys, I run a music blog. alternative, powerpop, punk, electronica, screamo, etc etc, check it out. http://muzikdizcovery.blogspot.com/ artist interviews and many other stuff. free cookies! (not really, but still) :D
Gillies
BA tweeted the following after the game:
“Three position players who stood out for scouts: Brett Lawrie, Jason Heyward, Tyson Gillies”
Is this guy going to be a top 50 to 75 prospect at the end of the season?
ugh
i was there tonight, but living 3 hours away we couldn’t afford to stick it out so long since we’ve all got to work in the morning. got to see a half an inning and get a picture with alyssa milano (who is super hot in person). quite a shame.
