Real Time Twins Shadow Draft

This is NOT the Real Twins draft. This is the Shadow Twins draft.

1) Jared Mitchell, OF, LSU.  Can't pass up the tools.
1S)  Matt Bashore, LHP, Indiana Univresity:  I like this Real Twins pick and will stick with it.
2) Jake Barrett, RHP, Desert Ridge HS, Mesa, AZ.  A dilemma, as I like Bullock a lot, but I am going with high school guy here.
3) Ben Tootle, RHP, Jacksonville State:  This guy was on my short list for the third round, so this is a real pick I will stick with.
4) Derek McCallum, 2B, Minnesota:  Love this real Twins pick. Will stick with it.
5) Zach Von Rosenberg, RHP, Louisiana HS: Will take a chance on the signability.
6) Carlos Ramirez, C, Arizona State
7) D'Angelo Mack, OF, South Carolina
8) Brian Dozier, SS, Southern Mississsipi
9) Carlos Ruiz, RHP, Long Beach State
10) Andrew Madrigal, RHP, Mount San Jacinto JC

re:mitchell

What is it that you like so much about mitchell? As a White Sox fan, I’d love to find out any info about him.

Mitchell

Sweet tools and the ability to draw tons of walks. He’s a bit raw as far as college players go (as you probably know by now, he also played WR on LSU’s football team), but there’s a lot of people who think we’re looking at a seriously gifted center fielder with the ability to develop plus baseball skills.

by mrkupe on Jun 9, 2009 9:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Question is which sport will he play?

by Caernarvon on Jun 10, 2009 1:29 AM EDT up reply actions

Baseball, no doubt

He did play football but wasn’t even a regular. But he was a 10th round pick out of HS by the Twins and he’s only gotten better since then.

It worked out nicely for him, as he really did get to have his cake and eat it too. He’s telling the Chicago media that he thinks there won’t be a problem in getting him signed and he sounds very eager to get on the field.

Twins made another pick.....

College Relief pitcher Billy Bullock (U of Florida) he throws hard, but command isn’t the greatest.

I don’t know if I like it

John

I"m glad you made at least one High School selection

the Twins went 4 all college pitchers.

Ron Gardenhire?

Man is he terrible. Does he fall asleep at the end of games or something? Is there some reason he is always taking Scott Baker out 1 inning too late. Dude is seriously killing my fantasy team’s hopes and dreams.

He sends him out for the 9th tonight with a 10 run lead and then has to use 3 relievers to get through the ninth because he’s asleep at the switch? Just look at Baker’s LOB% this year. Glad I’m not a Twins fan. Must suck to have a potted plant for a manager.

Same guy, new name.
