Like 5 years overdue, thank goodness.

Oh no way!

Ugh… lot of typing in my future.

I might shoot them an email complaining. Bookmarking players was the best function on that site. They should have expanded it, not gotten rid of it.

Speaking of being Human

What the hell is wrong with Brandon Wood? He was gangbusters before but has been ice-cold for the last 2 weeks or so hitting .139 with no homers in his last 10 games. A solid K/BB is still there, but is he hiding an injury or just getting frustrated that the Angels seem to have no intention of calling him up anytime soon?

doublestix knows a team that needs a shortstop

and I mean BADLY needs a shortstop. he can have a home finally. :)

Even before Aviles' injury

I thought Wood to the Royals would be a good match, hypothetically. Wood for Hochevar is the most fair swap I can think of off the top of my head, I would guess that Moustakas would make more sense for both teams but then the Angels would likely need to throw in something else, since even if he will be the better hitter IMO, he’s older and his stock is lower.

depressed

Mike Scoscia doesn’t like middle infielders who get on base and hit for power, so Wood is changing his approach.

They have been keeping him down for way too long

I remember that like 3 years ago they said he was going to be a starting shortstop by the end of the year. Now he’s struggling in the minors.

Well....

he doesn’t like it when you post bad things about him apparently:

Christian Garcia

It looks like he’s resurrecting his prospect status a bit. Anyone have any reports on how his stuff has been?

by Dfarth on Jun 4, 2009 3:27 PM EDT reply actions

interesting.

i used to be pretty high on him. didn’t even realize he was still playing

by daveh33 on Jun 4, 2009 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Hmm

He was reportedly hitting 89~91mph in his first start few weeks ago and I expect it to have raised a bit now. Hopefully it’ll get into low to mid 90’s range he used to get

Anyone know what’s up with Galloway? He hasn’t played in about a month.

Where are Rashun Dixon and Andrew Carignan?

Extended Spring.

"Their Triple-A rotation, led by Trevor Cahill and Brett Anderson, could be better than some big-league rotations; Michael Ynoa is the best Latin American prospect of the decade; 2008 draftees Jemile Weeks and Rashun Dixon bring much-needed tools to an advanced group of hitters." - BaseballProspectus.com

looking good

15 k’s and 3 walks in the 13.2/3 innings last 2 starts. Starting to get excited about this guy’s future – his GB rate less of a concern at Petco, everything else looks rock solid.

What sort of time table are we looking at for this guy? Middle of next season? Can someone give an update on how the stuff looks this season?

1/4, double, no strikeouts.

That might seem like an irrelevant day, but it means that his ISOP is now higher than his K% rate for the first time, a crucial indication for a young power hitter. What do you think about comparing him to Dexter Fowler?

Out of lineup again. I’ll ask the same question as yesterday to Angels fans. Who would you rather have, Sean Rodriguez or the struggling Howie Kendrick?

Rick Vanden Hurk

Passed prospect eligibility a few years ago by being an emergency starter for a few weeks, but he’s still young-ish, just turned 24 and has been real good in his first 3 AAA appearances since coming off the DL.

Last night:

6 ip 3 hits, 1 er, 7k, 0 bb.

Control has always been an issue with him, but he’s looking good in his first 3 appearances of the year.

14 ip, 9 h, 18k, 2bb

Edgar Osuna.

7 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K

Seven innings of one hit ball in his AA debut. This guy doesn’t have the greatest stuff in the world… a lefty with a 90 MPH FB, but he has great control and might have the best change in the Braves organization. He’s really pitched great his last

Q: If on-base pct is so important then why don't they put it on the scoreboard? -Failcoeur

A: Because the Braves don't want to show their fans how bad you suck.
