Should Chacin be promoted?

Doing a fantastic job in AA. Not much else to prove at this point.

Lincoln as well

A blog reports he’s been promoted to AAA Indianapolis, but haven’t seen it from an official source yet.

Stud

This kid is amazing and to think he is only 19 years old.

Good catch

Bad math on my part. Will turn 19 in October it looks like. Even better!

neftali feliz

5ip 7h 1bb 7k 1er

hes been ok, he was rushed to AAA i believe, so its taking him some time to adjust

by jarjets89 on Jun 21, 2009 7:28 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Not rushed

but has been working on control, take a look at the walk rates month by month. One per inning in April, half that in May, just 2 walks total in June.

i hope you're right and

i hope neftali turns out wonderful, I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

hm.

Gordon Beckham started 0-10, guess he won’t make it in MLB.

10 freaking at-bats. You still manage to surprise me after all these years, somehow.

Not that I don't agree with you about Braves...

But considering last years performance with that kind of start I don’t think it is a very hard jump to make.

by tt68 on Jun 21, 2009 11:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

fair

But you have to read between the lines for that. That’s a credible opinion, but the implication here is 10 bad AB = no career

Tough Day for High Desert vs Eric Milton

The old journeyman had an easy time vs the High Desert crew:

Milton 5.1 IP, 4hits, 3K/1BB

Liddi 1-3, 1BB, 1K
Dunnigan 0-4, 2K
Gillies 0-3, 1BB, 2K

Troy Patton

I really like him, underrated IMO, now in AAA (23 years old)

Not a Prospect Anymore

But Andrew McCutchen is red-hot in MLB:
2-5 today with his 5th (not a typo) 3B in only 78 AB’s. He is OPSing around .900, is this sustainable?

His Pro line stands:
26-78 .333/.366/.538/.904, 1 HR, 3 2B, 5 3B, 2-0 SB:CS, 4:14 BB:K rate
His AAA line was:
61-201 .303/.361/.493, 4 HR, 10 2B, 8 3B, 10-2 SB:CS, 17:24 BB:K rate

Did you really just ask

If 22 year old Andrew McCutchen, right out of the minors, can sustain an approximately .900 OPS, a level of production he has never reached at any point previously?

Unless his full name is Andrew Pujols-McCutchen, I might be going out on a ledge with this one, but I’m going to say no.

Was just about to post this

Glad to see him back and mashing!

by DJSlam on Jun 22, 2009 10:54 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Meh

I mean, it’s obviously better to get hits than not, but it doesn’t mean much to me for him to blast an 18 year old nobody in the AZL.

by aCone419 on Jun 22, 2009 1:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

what would

you rather he do in his first game of a rehab appearance

3 HR’s?

I get your point, but the real news here is he is back, apparently healthy, and with his timing intact.

I agree. That’s the take away here: he isn’t broken. Beating up on teenagers in and of itself is nothing to get excited about.

Glad to see it

I have him as a minor leaguer on my roto team.
