Latos Vs Parker

Recently Latos has been one of the best pitchers (if not the best) in the minors.  I feel like Latos has the stuff Parker has and possibly better.  The only thing that concerns me is Latos's injury history.  He seems like a tall durable pitcher and I feel like as long as he stays healthy he will be better than Parker.  Parker is dominate as well and I think he will be a solid pitcher.  The only pitcher in the minors I feel that will be better than these to is Bumgarner.

I'm a Padres fan...

…but I have an almost-disturbing man-crush on Parker. LOVED him coming out of HS. Hate to see him w/ a div. rival.

Latos, I hope

I hope he pans out to be a great starter…I own him in a prospect fantasy league. I liked what I read last year, and it sounds like he’s doing even better.

You also have to consider Latos situation I guess

The fact he’s pitching in Petco is a huge plus for his status as a prospect IMO

that doesnt make him a better prospect, although it can make people perceive him as a better prospect.

But...

…you do have to consider that he was hurt quite a bit, last year. He could be really starting to find his form, this year.

Latos

That Latos may soon call San Diego home does not make him a better pitching prospect, however, his performance through five starts at San Antonio, small sample size duly noted, surely has my attention.

Injuries

With Young heading to the DL and Peavy already out, any hopes for Latos now?

KT was on the radio the other day

… and said that because of Latos workload (only 56 IP each of the last 2 years) they do not want to triple his IP this season so they are being cautious with Latos. He does expect him in the big leagues at some point this season, but only breifly or as a Sept. callup not full-time duty.
