International League - Hitter or Pitcher Friendly

Hey, I was just wondering which direction the International League typically trends in terms of favoring pitchers or hitters?  I know that some older guys put up gaudy offensive stats there, but does it trend one way or the other?  I'm trying to put Fernando Martinez's Buffalo numbers in context.  There was a post elsewhere saying this his numbers were less than impressive given the league context, but I've never heard anything about the IL favoring hitters.

Can anyone help settle this?

Thanks for taking the time with all the draft stuff that's going on.

It leans heavily toward pitchers

The average ERA in the IL is about a run lower than in the PCL, if I recall rightly. MLB average is just about in the middle of the two American AAA leagues.

Another way to think about it is that PCL pitchers and IL hitters figure to do almost as well in the majors as they did in AAA, but IL pitchers and PCL hitters can expect very large regression in their level of production.

Thanks

That’s basically what I was looking for. Are these numbers available on MiLB.com, because I couldn’t find them? I’m just trying to prove that saying Fernando’s Triple-A stats are inflated is nonsense.

Lg: R/G (2009,2008, 2007,2006)

PCL: 4.98, 5.25, 5.13, 4.83
IL: 4.28, 4.50, 4.36, 4.17

MLB falls in the middle of those two. So compared to the MLB the IL is pitcher friendly.
