Eric Berger?
Is he a prospect to get excited about at all? Great K rate and whip without having given up a dinger yet. He might be a year too old for his league but his numbers look for real. What am I missing? Any/all feedback appreciated. ..................................................... filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler

Well....
His playing at Advanced A and his and his K rate is all right but nothing eye popping.
As for not giving up a HR, his his GO/AO is under 1.00 which isn’t a good sign that the lack of HRs will continue.
I’m not saying he is done for, but based on the numbers and his draft position (8th round), I’m not seeing any reason to get excited about the guy until he shows a full season of work and/or shows success at a higher level.
?
His K rate is 12.1/9 IP. What K rate pops your eyes?

Oh wow
I thought it was 28 IP, not 23.
Okay, that’s pretty good, but let’s see how he does with some more starts.
Again, if the difference of 5 IPs can change a K rate from eye popping to that’s good, we are talking about too small of a sample size to get excited about.
Berger had TJ surgery in july 2006 and touched 96 MPH before his surgery. Currently he sits at 90-93 and might get a little more once he’s 100% healthy again. His secondary pitches need some work, but they’re both average now with his curveball having a chance to become above average. That’s pretty good stuff for a lefty. I guess he’s somewhat of a sleeper.
Three years out?
Shouldn’t he be fully healthy by now?
