It's Time For Chris Coghlan!
When is Florida going to finally call up Chris Coghlan? In the last 10 games, Coglan has hit .556 with 8BB and only 1K. On the season he is hitting 348/425/565 with 12/10 BB/K ratio and 9 stolen bases and only 1 caught. Scouting reports have him being plus defensively at 2B, and I think I read that he was a plus 3B in college.
Emilio Bonifacio is hurting the team as a starting 3B. He is not that great defensively and gets on base at a sub-300 clip. When will Coghlan get the call? I still think he can be a Pedroia-type player with less power and more speed.

Coghlan
i love the BB/K ratio. He is going to be clearly better than EB. I think OPS around 850 is very possible. Maybe he could show more pop and hit 15-16 HR per year as well. I am all for the call up!

Is Coghlan expected to have less power than Pedroia?
There slugging percentages and ISOP were virtually identical in the minors

I think so...
I see Coghlan as more of a 8-12HR guy every year with 25+ stolen bases. I think Pedroia is more of a 15-20HR guy with about the same number of stolen bags.

Coghlan
No way he stays down much longer, Bonifacio has cooled off and FLA looks it could compete this year. He could sleep into the NL ROY race IMO.

yeah
plus they have GOT to get someone that can hit at the top of the order. Bonifacio and Maybin both have sub-.300 OBP’s and were batting 1-2 today. that’s unacceptable.
coghlan could come up, play 3rd, and bat 1st or 2nd immediately.

It goes like this
Coghlan vs. Bonifacio
Contact: C>B
Power: C>B
Defensive Ability (glove, range, arm): C>B
Speed (and baserunning ability): C>>>>B
Coghlan obviously wins on the baseball side but…
Cooler Name: C<B
Having really really good opening day performances: C<B
The last two ideas are obviously why Bonifacio gets the time over Coghlan; I guess first impressions really do make a difference.
