Prospect Faceoff - Matt Latos vs Homer Bailey
Interested in some thoughts, discussion, debate between Matt Latos and Homer Bailey. Latos is now at AA and still holding his own (brief sample). Bailey is a fallen angel, now 0-for-2 in his brief MLB auditions.
Both have some "head case" labels of sorts from a coachability standpoint.
Who would you rather have long term and why?

As a Latos Fantasy owner:
I couldn’t give up Latos for Bailey at this point. Their respective stocks are soaring in opposite directions. While Bailey has had some great starts in the minor leagues, he hasn’t been able to find success at the MLB level.
I like Latos and this his injury concerns are a tad over blown. The numbers he is putting up now are putting him in the discussion for top 15 pitching prospects at year’s end.
Remember: baseball guys... baseball...
the downside
1. Latos reportedly projects as a reliever
2. Latos’ high school coaches reportedly said he was VERY immature. don’t know if this issue has improved
3. Latos has had some arm troubles
Huh?
Latos has had arm troubles???
I follow the Padres MiLB as close as anyone on here… I don’t think he’s had arm troubles. He had a strained rib-cage muscle last year. And (this might be what you’re thinking of) he had a little tightness this spring – the Padres diagnosed it as nothing serious but shut him down for a week as a precaution – it’s obviously hampered him this season…
He’s had injury issues but next to nothing with his arm…
