Wieters Up

Starting friday. Andy McPhail announced it today. Now I will go on by rambling about how he is the next coming of God and will take us all captive as his slaves in the future. Every major league award will be named after parts of his body. Such as the Matt Wieters arm award and the Matt Wieters leg award. Given to the best pitcher and baserunner respectively. Thank you all. Good Night and Good Luck.

Medlen will probably get one more start before Hanson is called...

Medlen’s rough start is probably 75% nerves (check out his BB numbers), and the Braves don’t really want to send him back down with that big of a shot to his confidence.

Guy #1: Damn, these oysters are going to make us horny as hell...
Girl #2: Oh yeah, I forgot oysters are hermaphrodites.

He was fine against SF if he would have just got Lincecum out in the 2nd instead of walking him with 2 outs.

Wait a second

So Medlen’s not the second coming of Tom Glavine?

exciting times for O's fans

David Hernandez is more than likely going to start on Thursday as well.

by cowboy4eva on May 26, 2009 10:30 PM EDT reply actions

which is stupid

I would push him to Friday so they could debut together. Comfort level and all.

by ADLC on May 26, 2009 11:33 PM EDT up reply actions

it's not stupid...

Koji is injured and his turn is up on Thursday. They need someone to start Thursday and there are no off days. Moving Friday’s starter up a day and on short rest would be “stupid”. Hernandez will be on normal rest on Thursday.

Bergesen is starting Friday, he came from AAA Norfolk earlier in the season so Wieters has familiarity there if that has any importance.

A noob or n00b is someone that lacks intellegance or common sense, most people think that noob is a word used only in the online gaming world, but in reality it is becoming an ever popular word with teenage society.

a noob could be simply a level 100 running round shouting ‘’WTF DO I GO!?’’ or someone calling someone else a noob and then getting hit with a brick, anyone can call anyone a noob, but normally they are noobs themselves

You should set an over-under on diaries about his debut

Personally, I’d set it at around 12 and bet the over…

So what does Tillman have to do to be called up?

This is the guy I can’t wait to see, not that Wieters is chopped liver… I guess I’m just tired of reading every post about Wieters..

Tillman

Be Healthy? Seriously though, he’s one most would assume needs a bit more seasoning due to his control issues the years before. Yes he has improved which is great, but it doesn’t hurt to give him more time to were it becomes more 2nd nature for him.

Speaking of Baltimore prospects

Brandon Erbe must be injured. Does anyone know what happened to him? What type of injury?

Shoulder Fatigue

The brass is downplaying it as not serious, but shoulder problems are always scary.

Shirts on that site are amazing

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

I was hoping for better.

The smokestack one is pretty good. I might also wear the batting practice one. Jim Palmer jokes don’t really do it for me.

by PissedMick on May 28, 2009 2:39 AM EDT up reply actions

That is the greatest site ever.

by Orioles77 on May 28, 2009 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions

It was better when it was called Chuck Norris Facts

Or Cole Hamels Facts
Or Ryan Braun Facts
Or Tim Lincecum Facts
Or Jay Bruce Facts

are we going to recycle the same tired jokes every time any prospect comes up?

by Galt on Jun 5, 2009 11:51 AM EDT up reply actions

And those all were much, much better...

when they were the Vin Diesel Facts.

Adam Dunn: Proof that even sabermetrics doesn't have it right.

This.

Most people don’t realize that Chuck Norris facts were a rehash of those.

by RedSoxFaithful on Jun 6, 2009 11:33 AM EDT up reply actions

Yup.

I used to go to the Vin Diesel site all the time and laugh my ass off. Then they added Chuck Norris, then Mr. T. Now they are everywhere. Of course, the Vin Diesel thing was a rip off of the old SNL Bill Blasky skits, but I think Vin was the first one to have a website dedicated to them.

This is great.

Fresh comedy. But he is a great player.

Maybe it's just me

but in the limited ABs I have seen, his swing when he is batting left handed looks much better than his right handed swing.

by nyy601 on Jun 2, 2009 6:08 PM EDT reply actions

Mixed bag

He really has done well from both sides of the plate, but the pitchers are pounding the zone against him, and he is constantly down in the count and therefore loses the vast majority of his ABs.

Matt is fouling off a ton of pitches and seeing the ball well, but because he is always behind, pitchers are in the driver’s seat against him.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver
