Rank these prospects

If you really like another prospect that's not on this list but is likely available in my league, throw him in the discussion here.

I'm looking for the best combination of upside and likelihood of becoming a good major leaguer. What do you know about these guys? Rank them or just evaluate the best one or two.

Reese Havens

Nick Weglarz

Devaris Gordon

Jemile Weeks

Ben Revere

Derek Norris

Brad Emaus

Sean Rodriguez

Brandon Crawford

 Andrew Lambo

Lambo, Emaus, and Weglarz are all very good hitters, and with all of them at Double-A right now, they’re not that far from the bigs. Lambo has the most upside of the three (he’s only 20); Emaus could be a real asset as an offensive-minded 2B, but with Aaron Hill entrenched in Toronto now, it may take him some time to break into the MLB lineup.

Havens and Weeks probably have similar upsides as 2B, but I might give Havens the advantage given that the Mets like to challenge their prospects, and Luis Castillo isn’t exactly a roadblock at the major league level. And if you’re willing to wait a little while, Norris is a very good hitting catcher, albeit one at Low-A right now.

To sum up: if you need the “fastest to the majors” player, I’d spring for Lambo or Weglarz; and Havens and Norris, while you’ll have to wait on them a bit longer, should prove to be good value at 2B and C, respectively, when all’s said and done.

Hmm...I'll say

the top 5 are (in order, sort of)

Andrew Lambo
Brad Emaus
Ben Revere
Reese Havens/ Jemile Weeks

Nick Weglarz would probably be next…

my 2 cents

Reese Havens

Nick Weglarz

Devaris Gordon: did not even play organized baseball last year. but currently hitting for a very high BA and stealing a ton of bases. i think he could be a star.

Jemile Weeks

Ben Revere: i’ve heard some people compare him to juan pierre but with more power.

Derek Norris: i signed this guy prior to spring training. struck out a bit too much last season, which concerned some people. but so far this year he’s putting up sick power numbers and hitting for a high BA.

Brad Emaus: a guy drafted out of college. killing the cover off the ball right now. i have one friend who compared emaus to derosa. was in the aflac game a few years back, which means a lot.

Sean Rodriguez: i’ve read that he profiles more as a utility player.

Brandon Crawford

Andrew Lambo
