Michael Taylor

curious to see what other people think of him. big, physical and storng guy who can run...was old for the leagues last year, where he played very well but did not hit for much power.

the word was that playing at stanford messed up his swing and he is making major adjustments. he already has 6 HRs as well as an outstanding 11:15 walk/K ratio.

Signs point to this guy being legit and I will go out on a limb and say he finishes te year as a top 30-40 prospect since he is well on his way to a 20/20 year along with great peripherals.

that limb isn't too slender

I think it’ll hold you. :)

Taylor had a great year in high A last year and is now making the transition. He’s a little blocked for now, but I like him. Unfortunately, I needed to drop someone early this year in my fanatasy league and picked him after only about a week of slack numbers. I think he hit 2 homers the next day. Doh!

not really

i dont think he is blocked..he is still probably at least a year away from being ready..since he is still making some adjustments and finding himself.

i dont know how much of a road block jason werth is.

Werth is not a road block?

He’s just turning 30 years old next week and is a fantastic athlete, he put up a .382 wOBA last year and has a .413 wOBA so far this season, plus he is an elite corner OF defender. The only scenarios where Werth wouldn’t be a roadblock over the next few seasons is if he gets injured, the Phillies trade him, or he walks in FA after 2010.

hmmm...

you do know that Jayson Werth hit 24 bombs and stole 20 bases last year as a platoon player, right? You know he has 6 bombs and 7 steals and a .934 OPS with a positive UZR as a right field defender this, right?

i said

i dont know how much of a road block he is lol…not that he was not one at all

you guys aren acting like they he is a five time all star or something..he is a nice player.

i dont need his stats from last year thrown around, i know what he did, but its not like he is albert pujols.

werth

Is busting out and is certainly a block for next year i would think. Otherwise, with his great numbers thus far and on other teams, taylor might be promoted sooner than you’d think, since he isn’t old but not young for his league either. Just right for a nice prospect.

But I do like taylor, and being blocked has nothing to do with whether he is a top 40 or so prospect heading into next year. I just tossed that comment out.

its hard for me...

to say werth is busting out at the age of 30, especially when players beginto delcine around 33 lol..guess that is what im saying

i think taylor is still very much raw, and hasnt really dominated a league yet..so i feel he is still a ways away.

i agree

i think taylor is 2 years away, at least

n.b.

my first comment said “a little” blocked. And think you can bust out at 30 if you never had a full time job for long, switrched positions and got injured all the time.

Ludwick busted out last year.

Not saying he is going to the Hall.

In my league, he has put up second most RF points behind Markakais. he is just a good player. And know reason he can’t play well past 33.

I doubt taylor is 2 years away. he will get a September call, and if he weren’t ‘a little" blocked he could get a chance to start next year on some teams. Hell, if I were the Mets I’d start him next eyr if he keeps this year up.

Werth

is a 30 year old just now getting full time playing time..yeah, he platooned last year..but there is a reason for that lol.

he played well last year and has played well this year, but to act like he is a 25 year budding star is foolish
