MOD Twins

The Twins have 4 picks in the scope of our mock, coming in with

#22

#46

#70

#101

After taking their fair share of HS bats and college arms the last few years, I'm probably going to hope for some more polished bats, but the usual BPA philosophy applies here. I will also account for signability concerns, so it's not very likely you see me draft someone like Jacob Turner when mocking the Twins, despite the fact that he's a very good prospect. I'll come out with some top 10 lists at each draft pick, and we can debate it through then. I'm very open to suggestions as well.

Go for High School talent

Twins like to take chances on high upside high school hitters, so I’d like to see some high school talent in your top 10 list.

Turner

has signability issues. I’m also a big fan of Borchering in the 20s, though he’s creeping into the teens. At this point, Borchering is my #1, but he still has quite a bit of helium.

Draft short stops

And lots of them… Take one with each of those picks for all I care… We need an impact bat there with good defense.

yeah

what do you guys think about starting a thread on Twinkie town, would that be more helpful than just repeatedly starting MODs here?

It has come to my attention that if Mike Leake - Pitcher

Falls to #22 the Twins grab him here and never think twice about it.

Ok

I posted my basic thoughts about the top 10 guys on the TwinkieTown website 2009 draft thread.

Currently, my top 10 looks like

1. Jiovanni Mier
2. Bobby Borchering
3. Richard Pothyress
4-8. One of Four or five college arms (Brothers, Minor, Leake, etc)
9-10. HS arms

Really, I expect one of the top 3 to be there, so if they’re not, I’ll got BPA on college pitchers.

Thoughts?
