Welcome to the show Jordan Schafer
Nice opposite field blast. How long does that HGH effect last? Kidding. Ran at a nice, fast respectful clip. :) I underrated him, and thought he was too high in the community poll. Braves fans must be salivating, but of course it doesn't mean much yet. Figured they were rushing him. Braves always liked to just break'em in. I am wondering when they bring Hanson up. Maybe the Braves can compete in this division after all. As a mets fan, not liking that. I think the bottom teams are looking up.

hmmm I wanted to see him in AAA but that was nice
However, there are going to be struggles. Heck I remember I hyped the hell out of Carlos Gomez in 2007 and NY hyped the hell out of him after his 2-4 debut but then didn’t do much after.

well, there's a difference
schafer is actually quite good at hitting the baseball.
i think i’ve been schafer’s biggest pimper, but i’d have liked if his coming out party didn’t come on opening night gainst the phillies.

I've met McCann before
he was very polite, and I’d imagine he’s quite the considerate fellow

Gonna be an excellent race, IMO
I know a lot of people are going Mets/Phillies in one way or another, but if the Braves pen is healthy and they can get some offense, they’ll be in it, and I am a big fan of the Marlins club this year.

Did he ever explain what that whole HGH thing was about?
I remember him saying that he didn’t take it, but he couldn’t elaborate at the time.

him and andrus were selling it or giving it away

It's been inferred...
He did an interview awhile back and said he never used, but that he was guilty of violating the rules. He did not go into details, but from what I remember, that’s the impression he gave. Didn’t know about Andrus being involved though.

It’s inferred that he’s a drug distributor?

From what I've heard
It was inferred that he refused to give up info on others who were taking it, something of that sort. Basically they found out he knew of something that was going on, but he refused to talk about it.
I never heard of the selling thing, but that could be right also.

He had possession of HGH at one time, Carl Loadenthal ratted him out on that…he claimed to never have taken it. He did refuse to tell where he got/who else has it.

Logan Schafer
is having a good game. 2 for 2 with an intentional walk so far.

Fun time to be a Braves fan
The youth in the organization is pretty incredible. McCann, Jurrjens, Escobar, and now Schafer already with the big club, Hanson coming soon, and Heyward not too far behind him. Here’s one thing I’d like to point out, the rotation next year: Tim Hudson, Derek Lowe, Javier Vazquez, Jair Jurrjens, Kenshin Kawakami, Tommy Hanson, good lord.

Comp?
What would a generally accepted comp be for Schafer if he were to say reach his ceiling?
by DJSlam on Apr 7, 2009 11:47 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
idk know about comp
but I think that if he hits his peak, he’ll be a guy that yearly he’ll be a 20-20 guy who can hit .280-.290 with good gap power, on base skills, and gold glove defense in center.

Sounds a bit like Granderson in 2007
Probably not the best comp though.
