Ethan Martin Videos and semi scouting report

Ethanmartin01_medium

via minorleaguenotebook.com

I took in Ethan Martin's last start when he came through Dayton. I have some video up with a little bit of a scouting report Here.

He topped out at 95 a few different times. Inconsistent offspeed stuff, but flashed itself as very good.

There is also about 6 or 7 other videos of Martin ptiching over on my youtube page. Also videos of Devaris Gordon, Austin Gallagher and of course a ton of Reds videos.

What do you guys think of Ethan Martin?

Who would you compare him to? How would you compare him to the last Dodgers’ uber-pitching prospect, Clayton Kershaw, for example?

doug – it’s awesome that you took video and stuff, but you’ve gotta learn to use a tripod or don’t try to follow the flight of the ball because the ethan martin video was near vomit inducing with all the shaking and stuff. That said, keep up the good work on the site over there.

Yeah...

I was standing around and constantly dodging people. Unlike most Low A teams, Dayton has 9,000 every night, so there is a lot of people moving around.

As far as a tripod, that would work better if I had a seat, but I have a press pass up in Dayton so I usually sit up in the box except to take video and pictures of certain guys. I usually edit it to get just the pitches, but my computer is really acting up so I couldn’t and had to go with the raw footage.

With that said, Ethan Martin really impressed me with his stuff. He simply was overmatching guys and while the Dayton team is struggling almost top to bottom, it was more him being good than them being bad.

I’m a big fan of Ethan Martin, sounds promising that he looked as good in person as he does in his box scores thus far
I have huge faith in the Dodgers scouting system and players that they draft

Great video!

Thanks a bunch. Do you have video of any other Dodgers’ minor leaguers?
