Suggestions
A dark and stormy night here in East Central Kansas. Here is a suggestion thread....what would you like to see in the coming week? I've got a Potpourri scheduled for tomorrow, and more draft coverage planned. Anything else you want?

Looks like he’s finaly ready to be what alot of folks thought he would be. Could you take the time and give your take on his breakout possibilities.

Greatest Hits and Misses?
With the draft coming up soon, how about a handful of hits and misses that you have made over the years? A couple of guys that really took off that you called that weren’t your garden variety type studs, and a couple of guys you had high hopes for that never panned out, for whatever reason…
and what you learned from about prospect evaluation from both scenarios.
But that is just off the top of my head…
By the way John, I would just like to say thanks for all the writing you do here. I(We) really appreciate all the time you put into the site.
Sincerely,
Tom

I would like to see an Angel Villona VS Jesus Montero debate. Also, how about a Pedro Alvarez crystal ball?

worst 1st round picks
whether it was a poor choice by the team initially or the player just didn’t develop or was injured…who were the worst 1sts?

I would love to see a prospect retro on Jack Cust.
I was reading some posts on hear from 2005 about the top prospects of 2001ish and they all said he was a bust. It’s a strange career path but that’s why I’d love to read about it.
+1
That would be an interesting retro. I do love all the features John does, but the retros are especially interesting because of the lessons that can be learned. I like the crystal balls too, even if others don’t, just for the entertainment and discussion value. People need to lighten up on those.
Another prospect retro I would be interested in is Jose Cruz Jr. He was a bit before my time prospect wise but he went from “steal of the century” to can’t hit a breaking ball. I didn’t see much in the search feature, other than John’s post from 05 about guys I was wrong about.

Tuffy Rhodes Retro
Just hit his 450th HR in Japan. How do you think he would have done here? Given enough opportunity?
Breakouts
Through a couple weeks in the MiLB season, I’d like to hear who you’ve noticed as possibly showing some big signs of breaking out. There are some guys I’ve noticed that most people have never heard of who are really putting up great results.
Alejandro Sanabia (young starter for the Marlins organization in the FSL) for example has 13:3 SO/BB ratio through 15 IP along with only giving up 13 hits, giving him a great 1.15 ERA.
AAAA hitters
Lots of these guys don’t get writeups in the BP or BA books, but have pretty interesting backstories, plus you might see them in the summer of 2009 as capable fill-ins (or maybe the next Jack Cust.)
Daily minor league stats and comments
Another site I used to peruse last year but is no longer around would post stats each day in comment style for key prospects in each of the minor leagues that we could read to keep up to date on the goings ons in the minors. This was accomplished by recruiting several volunteers to cover the various leagues.
