Minor League Fantasy Baseball Help Needed
I'm in a league that allows you to keep 8 minor league players at any time on your roster. You are allowed to keep them in your minors until they reach 225 AB for a hitter or 90 IP for a pitcher. Desmond Jennings is currently a free agent and I really want to pick him up. However, I didn't think any of these guys were less valuable than him, and thus I have a dillema. Should I drop one of these guys and pick up Jennings?
Trevor Cahill
Tommy Hanson
Justin Smoak
Jason Heyward
Matt LaPorta
Carlos Santana
Lars Anderson
Eric Hosmer
I'm not really looking for positional needs, just the best players available from a fantasy standpoint. Thanks!

Id say its kind of close
Jennings should definitely be owned by someone… but I wouldnt drop anyone you own for him.
Why not trade one of your 1B prospects for major league help and pick up Jennings? I would probably do that.
Re: Jennings
Yea like I was saying below, I know he should be owned, it’s just that this league is not the most knowledgeable when it comes to minor leaguers. In fact, this league is what made me take interest in minor league players overall. It’s hard to trade minor league players because nobody else really knows how to value them.
Cahill
Can you add him to your major league roster since it looks like he will probably hit 90 innings this year anyway?
BTW…you need to find a more competitive league or at least one with more than 5 teams.
Re: Cahill
I’m actually looking to trade Cahill. It threw a monkey wrench in my plans when they called him up so early. I don’t think he’s going to be elite for a couple of years, so he won’t have much value to me, I won’t be able to keep him.
As for the league, it has 12 teams, there are only a handful of guys who pay attention to minor league players, which is a shame. It’s a bunch of guys I know, so I’m not looking to leave, it’s for fun.
Who to drop?
I feel there are still questions about Carlos Santana. There are no questions about Jennings. I’d drop Santana for Jennings.
HEALTH
Maybe health isn’t a question for Jennings but a certain answer: he has a really hard time staying that way!
No questions about Jennings, that’s some good shiat.
Re: Health
Good point about injury concerns. I actually had him last year but had to drop him when he got injured and was out for the year.
Re: Santana
What questions do you feel there are about him? From what I’ve read, he is already elite with the bat and is becoming serviceable behind the plate.
Don't drop anyone
Thats a good squad you have there.
