Aaron Hicks & Extended Spring Training: Why?
If we take a look at Aaron Hicks minor league stats: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Aaron%20Hicks&pos=LF&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=543305
We see that in 2008 he put up some great stats at a very low level.
His 2009 stats are unaviable and it doesn't seem like he is playing for the Advanced A team or even the low A team for that matter. After a little bit of research, I've found out that he is still in extended spring training but I can't seem to find out why. Does anyone have inside info on Aaron Hicks and why he isn't playing at Beloit? Is he hurt? Thanks for the info guys, this one is really baffling.

The Twins move their prospects slowly
Always have. Also, the fact that Hicks and Angel Morales (who tore up the appalachian league last year) are both centerfielders probably affected the decision. Morales has looked pretty terrible this year, so if Hicks is looking good in EST and Morales continues to struggle, I think we might see Morales move down when short season begins and Hicks take his place.
Twins did the same with Revere
Revere didn’t get to Beloit last year until an injury opened a spot for him. Could be weather related too, as Beloit isn’t the warmest place to play baseball in April. I suspect Hicks will arrive sometime in May.

It worked out well for Revere last year, so I guess you can’t second guess it too much, but Even Keith Law was surprised that Hicks is in XST: “I assumed Hicks was in Beloit but I see he’s in extended spring – he really should be in Beloit right now. He was awesome after signing last year – that plus the tool set justify the promotion to full-season ball.”
