Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

david Robertson called up

I think Robertson is the best of the yankees bullpen hopefuls.  I like Edwar, and Veras has a good arm.  He wasn't great today though. Marte and he helped the game get outta hand in the new stadium opener.

Roberston has been lights out so far in the minors.  He'll need a little better command than he had in the majors last year, but I like his chances of being, after bruney, the bridge to Rivera.

oops

didn’t even realize he’d pitched in the game today. 2 innings, 3ks, 2 hits, no walks no runs.

Doh!

Oh yeah. He’s looking pretty good. OK, forget it. Let’s just say Robertson looks pretty good too. :)

Pitched well for SWB today...

has to be on their radar. That pen looks TERRIBLE.

Maybe Veras goes and Melancon comes up before the next game…?

Marte

uggh, I mean seriously, this guy’s been pretty damn consistent for a reliever over a pretty darn long period of time, way to pick a year to blow up.

David Robertson sent down

For Juan Miranda

Yankees optioned RHP David Robertson to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Robertson lasted a day in the majors. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts during Yankees’ home opener, but the Yanks needed to add an offensive body due to a few minor injuries.

I know this was in response to Tex’s wrist injury, but seriously, what does Robertson have to do to convince the Yanks that he belongs in the majors? For my money, he’s better than Veras and Albaladejo right now. Just because someone can’t throw 95 doesn’t mean he can’t be a valuable bullpen guy.
