Just some notes:
This is basically to get an idea of where certain players are valued. Proximity does weigh a bit more for some guys, some teams have different needs, etc.
Finally, there are some instances where a player may be available in one league, but was taken in a prior draft in the other league (Montero, Flores come to mind).

Is anybody surprised by how (relatively) low Hicks went?

not really
he doesn’t project as a big power guy, so I think he gets and overlooked. By this time next year, he could be the steal of these drafts, though.

the only OF
taken before him were Stanton in both leagues and Jones and Reddick in the first league. Not sure bout Reddick there but Jones and Hick have comparable talent levels

Hicks
He did slip in League 1, and he was my guy at 28 if he would have made it. In League 2, I kind of see his placement as about right, possibly a couple of spots low, but proximity and need also played into some of those picks (i.e. Teagarden).

Max Ramirez
I’m surprised that Max Ramirez doesn’t appear on either list. I know that there’s a lot of competition (Salty, Teagarden) behind the plate in Texas. I also understand that Ramirez doesn’t have a good reputation behind the plate, so he may be forced to move to 1B, which is already occupied by Chris Davis. That said, his performance in AA last year strongly suggests that his bat is ready for the majors right now and that his bat will play anywhere.

Max
Was already owned in one league (League 1), but yes, he wasn’t selected in League 2. He will probably be nominated in the auction portion of that league (anybody with any major league experience can be chosen). Personally, while he was on my short list, I took Kila with the last selection. Part of that probably has to be that I’m a Royals fan, and I wanted a half a season at least (we have a 2 Rd mid-season draft as well) to see if he is for real. Kila had Playstation numbers last year, and I like his name;) But yes, very nice bat, and Max was in the mix I’m sure for some of us.

Thanks...
…for the feedback about Max. And thanksfor posting these results, too. These lists should help me set expectations for other players’ rankings in my AL league.
