Draft question
While it might be to early to tell, it would be interesting to know what players from Canada and Puerto Rico you think will be drafted in first 3/5 rounds and why you think that.

PR
Raul Rivera, RHP
Roberto Perez, SS
Those are two names to remember, though their prospective draft position will vary greatly between now and June.
Holland
How he looked on saturday when in the AAA game. Where he will end up. How soon in Ranger blue?

I’m growing tired of reading Tim Dierkes and Keith Law

All That

If you do one.
Don’t take questions that are stupid. Nothing pisses me off more than reading the “KLaw bait” on his chats.

Why
He is a 40 something washed up pitcher….. John wasn’t prospecting when he was in the minors!
Really though, I too would like to see something done on Stanton and players with similar strikeout rates as him at the same age/level and how they turned out, both good and bad.
Not a Prospect
I’m always interested in the guys who are past “prospect” eligibility but not fully established.
Heck, you could do that on just the LA infielders (Morales, Wood, Rodriguez, Loney, Hu, DeWitt) and barely scrape the surface…
positional surveys
I’m loving the overview of positional prospects.
Also, maybe taking a look at any correlation between height and success of pitching prospects?
The Dodgers won't win a playoff series until the Cool-a-Coo returns.
Thinking about...
Brandon Wood. I know we did one in 2007 but I’m curious to see what people think of him heading into ‘09. Blah, blah they’re just spring stats but he’s mashing right now. Scioscia doesn’t want him over Izturis or Aybar at SS but what about 3B or DH with Figgins doing the other so Figgins can still leadoff and you get Wood’s bat in the lineup?
+1
Wood is the most interesting “Not a Prospect” candidate I can think of. His career is truly at a major crossroads here.

I feel the complete opposite
If I never heard Brandon Wood’s name again I’d be perfectly fine.
Actually, I feel that way about most cant miss Angels prospects.

every single year Brandon Wood is “at a major crossroads” of his career.

He's 24
And absolutely owned Triple-A this year. If you give up on him just because you don’t have the patience to allow a prospect to develop… actually why don’t you join my fantasy league, you can be a great trade partner for me!

This isn't about possible sleepers in your fantasy league
it’s regarding players we would like to hear more about.
I think we’ve heard plenty about Wood, he either realizes his potential or does not.

Something on the upcoming Latin FAs.
I don’t know if it is to early or not to start talking some about the upcoming unsigned prospects in the DR and Venezuela.
I would love to see...
a feature on the success rates of top latin american prospects. The guys who are always ranked highly because of ARL, but are hard for us prospect hounds to evaluate.
So, guys like Jose Reyes, Miguel Cabrera, Felix Hernandez, and Ruben Rivera, Ruben Mateo, and Deolis Guerra. What do you like to look for in these guys other than ARL? Do you think these types of guys are over/underrated by prospect evaluators? Any past anecdotes/thoughts about guys like this you’d like to talk about?
I would find something like this very interesting.

I'll Suggest Again
Agegate. Talk about prospects and what your opinions were/would be before/after. Talk about how Esmailyn went grades with those three years. And any other prospects of the sort. Most of the agegate scandals are before my time, but i’m sure there’s plenty.
A noob or n00b is someone that lacks intellegance or common sense, most people think that noob is a word used only in the online gaming world, but in reality it is becoming an ever popular word with teenage society.
a noob could be simply a level 100 running round shouting ‘’WTF DO I GO!?’’ or someone calling someone else a noob and then getting hit with a brick, anyone can call anyone a noob, but normally they are noobs themselves

A little bit more on the Tools Bust types and what can be learned
You mentioned in the Sizemore retro that he’s “a great example of a tools player made good”. Can you do a look back at some of the others that did & didn’t make it and what can be learned going forward for guys like Yorman Rodriguez, Rashun Dixon, Ryan Westmoreland, etc…
Similar to the Tools Bust types
Maybe the flipside as well with guys that don’t grade out with really flashy tools or size but still make it because they can flat out play. I’m not so much thinking of the David Ecksteins of the world as guys like Jaff Decker where scouts aren’t enamored with his tools but it’s hard to ignore a .523 OBP.
+1
Viciedo also. That is if you’ve been able to do a decent amount of scouting on either one and changed from your initial impressions.

2009 draft
Anything on 09 draft….I want to know more about some of the lower profile top prospects like Mike Leake and Alex Wilson……..I also want to know where aaron crow looks to be drafted, Ive heard about him being drafted all over the 1st round which doesnt make sense to me because to me he has disgusting stuff, I dont see how his mechanics can effect his draft status because Alex White’s mechanics suck too and hes been slotted as high as #2 for some……….
Alex Wilson is no #2.
He’s a late 1st round type of guy if he holds up with solid numbers. Any sort of bump health-wise or stuff-wise and he’s out of the 1st round.
Anything on the Royals' pitching prospects
What about comparing Melville to Montgomery? In the lead-up to the draft, everybody was talking about Melville as a potentially premier prospect while Montgomery got almost no attention, while now most people seem to think they are roughly equal, with Montgomery maybe a touch ahead. How did this happen? Are either of them potential stars?

Draft stuff
For 2009 and 2010. Top College players at every grade-level (fresh, soph, jun, sen.) and maybe HS seniors, I don’t know too much about the HS class.

crystal ball. Pretty sure this hasn’t been done yet..
I'd like to see your thoughts on guys like David Price
Close prospects and the decisions made by their teams with regard to where they start the season. Should Price start at AAA? What about some other top prospects (Anderson/Cahill, Beckham, etc.)? A little analysis on this sort of thing would be a fun read.

Not a Prospect
Chris Getz.
More like never a prospect, yet here he is with a starting job possibly batting lead-off.
Break it down?
team USA roster liabilities: 3. John Grabow, 2. LaTroy Hawkins, 1. Derek Jeter
Getz beat out Lillibridge
wasnt he part of your shadow Twins? Leading all of baseball in pre-season strikeouts. yuck.

Prospect Retros
Joe Crede, Jon Maine, Oliver Perez.
