Help

Wallace
Alvarez
Posey
Fowler
Smoak

You can’t go wrong with any pick for your team. Anyone of the 3 would be great

was wondering about

alvarez/wallace since i had mous @ 3B…and this is the 1st time i have seen wallace over alvarez.

On this team

I’d take Smoak without a doubt.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

RE

I could honestly say you need any of them..maybe with the exception of Smoak, as Loney is pretty solid.

I would also take a strong look at Posey and Fowler…

If it were me, I would go:

Fowler
Wallace
Posey
Alvarez
Smoak

I know that isnt what most people will say but with Fowler you will have Upton, Fowler, and Granderson, essentially corner SB and not losing much in the way of BA or power really. Plus it fills a need.

Posey – there is the potential he isnt a great fantasy player

Smoak – you dont really need, but I like him a ton

Wallace – you really need, until he moves off third

Alvarez – I just get an uneasy feeling about him, from not hitting lefties well to the whole out of shape thing and contract thing.

Smoak hands down...

I know you already have a 1B, being Loney, but I really think Smoak is awesome. He has power. I can see this guy hitting 25+ homers in the bigs, although he might have some issues hitting for average. At minimum he should be a solid every day player. Not to mention he is great defensively as well.

As far as the others go:
Wallace – his defense is an issue

Alvarez – he had some issues this off season that turned me off of him, the holdout and his weight

Posey – don’t know enough about him

Fowler – should see the bigs first out of all the candidates

?

you dont take a fantasy first basemen because he is a "solid every day player. I like Smoak too but I dont think you know what you are talking about in terms of fantasy. for instance defense dosent matter so there is no need to bring it up, and the fact that you dont know enough about posey.

thanks for the help guys!

i really appreciate it. not sure which 3 will be available as i have the #3 pick, and 2 of these 5 will almost 100% be gone.

Take the best player

Don’t worry about what your team needs in the first round. For example, you need a catcher because Suzuki sucks, but there’s no way you can pass up Alvarez or Smoak if they are available.

In order of fantasy impact that they’ll make you should probably go:

Alvarez
Smoak
Fowler or Posey (I think it’s pretty close only because Posey is a C)
Wallace

Highest ceiling in my opinion

SMOAK’em if you got em.
Posey
Wallace
Alvarez
Folwer.

I think Alvarez is going to be a bust. He strikes out too much.

ok....

it has been released pick #1 will be justin smoak…so i’ve heard the other 4 names used as the top one on here, and i am personally leaning towards wallace/posey, as i hear bad news about alvarez all the time, and this league plays LF/CF/RF/UTIL meaning granderson and upton are CF/UTIL, and another CF would find no PT on my squad.

any more opinions?

it looks like its gonna be 1. smoak 2.alvarez…leaving me thinking posey/wallace
