Wieters, Smoak,& Greene
I just noticed that Matt Wieters, Justin Smoak, and Justin Greene all went to Stratford High and were born within a year of each other. Granted, Greene is not in the same class as the other two, but to have three guys from one HS team in pro ball seems pretty impressive to me. I really don't follow HS ball. Is this an odd coincidence, or is Stratford some sort of powerhouse baseball school? I only live about 20 minutes away from there. Should I be watching their games? Do they have anyone this year I should be keeping an eye on?

RE
I lived almost literally right next to the high school, there is good baseball in the area, but yes, two top 10 picks back to back years is just something special and a coincidence.

Mosignor Pace HS
Chris Marrero and Adrian Cardenas both graduated from Monsignor Pace HS in Florida in 2006. Marrero went in the 1st round to Washington and Cardenas went to Philadelphia in the supplemental 1st round.
Gio Gonzalez(1st round-White Sox) and Erick San Pedro(2nd round-Montreal) also went to school there and graduated in 2004. So more than likely all 4 were playing together in 2004. Marrero and Cardenas would have been sophomores but they likely played varsity.
Stud Miami(FL) University ace Chris Hernandez, who will likely be a top 2 round pick in 2010 also went to school there. He graduated in 2007. He might have played varsity as a freshman seeing as how he is darn good. So you might have had all 5 on the same team.
The school also produced a 5th(Tom Mendoza) and 10th(Israel Chirino) round pick in 2005.
Its possible Monsignor Pace had 7, top 10 round draft picks playing for them in 2004.

Mark Reynolds was on the same travel team as that group I believe to. I read somewhere that Reynolds, BJ, Wright and Zimmerman was the team’s infield.

Eric Munson and Eric Chavez were in the same class at the same high school and both ended up being top 10 picks.

Two i can think of
Clint Everts and Scott Kazmir were the 4th and 15th picks respectively in the draft the same year out of Cy Falls HS in Texas.
Arod and Doug Mientkiewicz were on both the same baseball and football teams in HS.
