Community Prospect List: #147

After 234 votes the winner of the poll is Chris Valaika with 12% of the vote.    Jharmidy DeJesus (146-2%), Nick Hagadone (146-6%), Jonathan Lucroy (146-2%), Michael Almanzar (146-6%) will be removed from the poll because they fell below the 7% cutoff.  Zach McAllister, John Raynor, David Hernandez, Justin Jackson, Austin Romine will be added to the poll.  Also, when listing testers if you do not provide the first AND last names they will not be considered.  I am doing away with runoff votes as the polls are starting to get more time consuming and spring training games are fast approaching.

You could say the same thing about Juan Ramirez...

who is a better prospect. But, a lot of people probably feel the same way about a lot of different players.

I find it hard to believe

that there are 147 better prospects that Hector Rondon right now. It’s a travesty he isn’t on this list yet

My choices...

for the last 4 slots:

- West
- Hagadone
- Todd
- Parra

Justin Jackson

Your talking about a potential five-tool shortstop here, at 147. What am I missing?

And what 5 tools do you mean?

He has a career average under .230 in the minors and has shown very little power. I like Jackson but lets not go overboard.

That's it

Start over. The 2nd half of this list is more off than the 1st. It has been a good time, but I will say I won’t be using it as a reference

I don't think the list was that bad

At least the first 100 or so. There were some very aggressive picks (Max Ramirez at 30, Derek Holland at 17 amongst others) and some conservative picks (Poreda at 89, for example), but nothing out of the realm of possibility. If Ramirez gets some starts at catcher this year and hits as well as he could, that pick might looks quite good in fact
