Community Prospect List: #146
After 202 votes the winner of the poll is Ross Detwiler with 20% of the vote. Juan Duran (145-4%), Jess Todd (145-4%), Jay Jackson (145-1%), Luke Hughes (145-2%), Cedric Hunter (145-1%), Reese Havens (145-6%) will be removed from the poll because they fell below the 7% cutoff. Jonathan Lucroy, Sean West, Jharmidy DeJesus, Michael Almanzar, Gaby Sanchez, Gerrardo Parra will be added to the poll. Also, when listing testers if you do not provide the first AND last names they will not be considered. I am doing away with runoff votes as the polls are starting to get more time consuming and spring training games are fast approaching.

I should have asked this here.
Who is Juan Duran?
Admittedly, some of these players are beyond my familiarity.

I take it the lack of response means no one else knows either.
Well, I found him down at the bottom of the Cincy list from John, a “C” prospect. I take it he was a notable IFA signing this last year.
Should he really be considered at this point?
Seems like Pineda, D’Arnaud. Kimbrell, and Westmoreland are much better prospects. All are rated “B” by John, 3 ticks above Juan Duran and none have even gotten a tester, yet.

he was a really big international sign.
scouting reports are all “good”… though i haven’t seen any of course… prospecttube.com had a video of him and i found it : http://www.prospecttube.com/video/juan-duran

He's a big international signing
But personally, I don’t think someone who flailed around all year in the DSL should be on at this point.

there are much better kids from DSL
who actually hit the ball hard.

BA ranked him in the Reds top 10
His DSL stats were certainly unimpressive last year though.

J.Ramirez, West, Kullbacki
The first two look like high upside guys with reasonable odds of breaking out this year; Kullbacki looks like Aaron Cunningham.

Question
I’m new to this process, so please pardon if I’m being stupid.
Is there some reason Reimold wasn’t dropped? He only got 6% of the vote last time, tied with Havens, and Havens went bye bye.

Probably...
at the time the new poll started, he had 7% and more votes for others came in afterwards, which dropped him to 6%. Evidently, there’s no way to close a poll on this site.
